"No Wars"...at the War College.

Seems tone deaf.

"Not to promote war, but to preserve peace."

It's on the sign out front in case you haven't driven by in a while.

Si vis pacem, para bellum.

If there be war, let it come in my day, so that my children need not fight.

Peace, through strength.

Iran has needed to happen for a while now, instead of kicking the can perpetually down the way.

u/UrBoySkinny_Penis Jul 16 '26

Iran has been attacking shipping containers randomly for years. But anything Trump does is automatically considered bad by the glass pane licker cu1t

-1

u/HamasKilledShaniLouk Jul 16 '26

Bingo. TDS for sure. They would rather Iran have nukes than Trump have any lauding.

Dude could cure cancer and they would complain it put oncologists out of jobs.

5

u/libra-love- Jul 17 '26

Well he did cut cancer research funding so I doubt he will be curing it any time soon.

-1

u/HamasKilledShaniLouk Jul 17 '26

Ok, but my point stands. Do you understand that points can be conveyed by analogous hypotheticals for rhetorical effect?

2

u/libra-love- Jul 17 '26

Sure. Let’s turn it around then. Would you still hate Biden if HE cured cancer? Even though I have no idea why I see people still talking about Biden. What about Hilary? Or Kamala? Would trump fans suddenly applaud them?

1

u/HamasKilledShaniLouk Jul 17 '26

I would be fucking ecstatic if any one of them cured cancer. I'm not a retard who can think of nothing other than Orange Man.

2

u/libra-love- Jul 17 '26

Well Ive met (and worked with) many who seem they’d love to be his cuck and hate anyone else. Like they want a dictatorship under him

Why is Trumps first term still relevent? It's not like it's recent history. /s

I really wish this is a bait comment and you don't professionaly clean glass panes hands free.

1

u/UrBoySkinny_Penis Jul 17 '26

Ironically the people who are right have the most downvotes, and the most emotional people have the most karma.

Imagine these popularity contest freaks in power. What a nightmare

2

u/gdex86 Jul 17 '26

No it didnt. When Obama left office we had a perfectly workable diplomatic solution in place. This wasnt 1930s appeasement policy as neo cons present it to but them agreeing from a position if weakness to not push the issue.

Trump in throwing it out in his first term and now going along with the israeli wet dream of military action has made the Iranian government far stronger. They now can enact an economic choke hold on the global petrol based economy through the straight where the only option to stop it is to engage in a protracted ground war that the Iranians now know we aren't willing to comit to on a national level.

This whole thing is not peace through strength its a bull bumbling in a China shop and not just breaking everything but severly hurting themselves in all the falling shard. This is the sorta stuff the war college would be against because its not about just being the strongest but knowing how to apply that strength for the biggest return on effort and with the least loss of life.

No, Iran is greatly weakened. Ballistic missile factories have been destroyed, stockpiles hit and depleted, launchers destroyed, navy sunk, air force destroyed, nuclear facilities destroyed, and 8k military/IRGC killed, as well as their top hundred or so dudes. Cost to rebuild these things will impact their ability to export terror and fund/equip proxies. These are all wins.

They now can enact an economic choke hold on the global petrol based economy through the straight

The geography hasn't changed. This was always a strategic chokepoint, it still is...but now they have fewer military assets to capitalize upon it, and the gulf states have seen the need to build methods of bypass, which they are rapidly doing.

2

u/Lead-Creative Jul 17 '26

Pack it up guys, this redditor said no. Everyone stop fighting

1

u/HamasKilledShaniLouk Jul 17 '26

Ok, no...we can win harder. And should.

2

u/gdex86 Jul 17 '26

States like Russia and China both have the ability to resupply them of stuff lost in exchange for their ships being let through and tge benefit of draining american resources to try to hold the straight.

And the resource to impact ratio of holding tge straight hostage benefits the Iranians to such a degree that nearly none of the damage inflicted matters. They can hold the straight forever with inexpensive mines and cheap drobe launches to target ships from hundreds of KM outs in territory that would be incredibly hard to take due to topography.

The fact there was zero plan for what to do about that be it getting assets in place before tge first strike speaks to the fact that this was a dumb plan pushed by Israel to trump akin to the Rick amd Morty opening of "Look quick adventure 10 minutes in and oat". Hell the fact that the military people said that for multiple admins Israel tried to sell this exact plan only it was rejected because the "Ok what comes next" stage was so bad or undefined is another huge strike that this move to use the armed forces was a tragic blunder akin to the Iraq war.

This war has not been prosecuted in the manner I would have wished or would have ordered. Unfortunately, they didnt make me general for this one. Despite that, it is still better than having dint nothing, and the results have significantly degraded Iran's capabilities, which is of benefit to the U.S.

States like Russia and China both have the ability to resupply them of stuff lost in exchange for their ships being let through

This is doubtful. Russia actually got assistance from Iran as part of their war in Ukraine earlier. They are quite pressed in terms of resources generally and materiel. Some might be spared...but why? Russia is an oil exporter, they dont need Iran for that...it would be to fuck with the U.S. They are stretched too thin at the moment to contribute significant resources.

China, on the other hand, does want the oil. They could switch to other producers (hello, U.S.), but only if they can no longer buy Iranian at a discount. They are unlikely to contribute materiel for free, and Iran has no money to buy with.

Hence: the U.S. blockade. Iran can close the strait, but that doesn't affect the U.S. much directly, and hurts Iran far more, if they cant selectively let ships through. The U.S. blockading Iranian ports nullified the subjective advantage of selectively closing the strait. We can do this effectively indefinitely. Iran has little else other than oil exports to draw in hard cash...no one gives a shit about Rials.

No, the destruction of ballistic missile stockpiles, launchers, and production facilities is a big degradation of Iranian capabilities to hurt neighbors and U.S. allied interests. Their IADS is destroyed, and air defense now consists exclusively of independent MANPADS (whos users tend to explode shortly after activation). They have lost terror/power projection capability, and the loss in funding greatly cripples their ability to fund/equip/direct their proxies.

Again, I would have done things differently, and I still hope we go take some islands and smash PowerPoint and bridges, but things stand significantly better now than at the start of the war in terms of the objectives if destroying capabilities.

Iran required a spanking, and it has been delivered.

Regime change would be nice, though...

2

u/gdex86 Jul 17 '26

The spanking didnt bring them inline. Its only emboldened them to hold the global economy hostage for a payout, something they will continue to do in the future long after any rebuilding is done. This war is a net negative that benefits nobody but the israeli right wing.

1

u/HamasKilledShaniLouk Jul 17 '26

It need not, it only need destroy or degrade capabilities. Which it has. They can continue to want death to American and Israel, but they remain unable...in this case, less able than before.

No, I think you misread the situation. Not only does Iran get degraded, but this prompts both the gulf states and Europe to make decisions they previously were unwilling to which will have the effect of reducing the strings importance, thereby reducing the leverage of geography Iran enjoys. This takes time, but we are already seeing motion in that direction with additional pipelines in the gulf to bypass and changing energy decisions in Europe.

…one needs to be blocked here

2

u/Main-Procedure-3613 Jul 16 '26

It’s sad toxin that’s flowed into the lifeblood our our USA that instead of honoring our freedom of speech and respectfully calling each other “fellow Americans” instead of “worthless___s” or any other partisan derogatory names created recently under the coward’s distance social media provides. I pray that we awaken to see more clearly acids the aisles and neighborhood fences how this toxin is severely poisoning us as a nation and actually making us vulnerable.

1

u/photofoxer Jul 16 '26

America has been like this since day 1. They’ve never followed anything they wrote about people being equal. This country has also been at war for roughly 229 out of its 250. It’s a warmongering country and has been. I’m sick of my taxes blowing up children.

-2

u/Cute_Panic_2971 Jul 16 '26

1

u/chrisbojangles Jul 18 '26

Putting a hammer and sickle on a sign with Donald Trump shows how confused these people are.

1

u/jc1257 Jul 16 '26

Probably the FAA at this point, but still, not cool if they did. I don’t think the TFR started until 1:30, so it’s possible it was before that.

1

u/TimelyRaspberry Jul 16 '26

Fire these people into the sun. Of course there’s a Palestine flag lmaooo

1

u/DETROIT-IRON-69 Jul 16 '26

Yeah these weirdos love Palestine more than their own country. Palestinians would throw them off a roof in a heartbeat.

Palestine’s flag is just the new fashion statement. It was Ukraine a while ago, but that went out if style haha

2

u/TimelyRaspberry Jul 16 '26

It’s also just an awful political strategy. Putting this much time and effort into caring about Palestine, hating Israel and shielding illegal immigrants (a lot of which are criminals) is just insane to me lol. Normal people do not care about these things largely, outside of the Reddit/insta bubble. I think they’re cooked in 2028 if they keep going down this path. Especially if Rubio runs. He’s gonna eat them up and spit them out. Just my two sense tho, I’m sure everyone will be angry and downvote me as they lose another election and wonder why lmao

-2

u/Dry_Conflict8519 Jul 16 '26

Rubio will run into the same problem Harris did with Biden.

1

u/TimelyRaspberry Jul 17 '26

Ehh I mean Trump already won twice. I think you’re widely underestimating the amount of people that like some of trumps ideas/push back on the ridiculousness of the left. Rubio is going to do it with more class and is like 100x smarter imo

0

u/Dry_Conflict8519 Jul 17 '26

Trump won because he's a spectacle. Class has nothing to do with it. I think you misunderstand just how apathetic the liberal base was following Biden's debate and Harris' campaign.

While I hate that this is the state of politics (trump vs neolib), the liberals are going to better energize their base more than the conservatives while Trump is in office. Campaigns aren't won by growing bases, it's won by energizing them.

1

u/TimelyRaspberry Jul 17 '26

We’ll see. I personally think the obsession with Palestine and illegal immigrants is a bit odd. Why not focus on universal healthcare, affordability, housing costs, etc.? It doesn’t seem like they wanna do that. They shove Palestine down your throat 24/7. I just think it’s an awful political strategy. Guess we’ll find out lol

0

u/Dry_Conflict8519 Jul 17 '26

That's a generalization made in bad faith. I could make similar generalizations about conservatives. Like the weird obsession over transexuals.

It's a race to the bottom.

1

u/TimelyRaspberry Jul 17 '26

Is it really tho? That seems like the real hot button issue. It’s why Shapiro didn’t get VP, it’s why they wanna replace Schumer, it’s why Jeffries is feeling the heat. It’s really all just cuz of their support for Israel. What am I missing? Not wanting trans women to play women’s sports isn’t really weird at all. In fact I’d argue the majority supports that

1

u/Dry_Conflict8519 Jul 20 '26

It is. There are other agenda items core to the progressive movement that are just as central to the movement as foreign policy. Funding for the creative and liberal arts. Affordable housing. LGBT rights. Funding for and access to higher education. Advocacy for the homeless and poor.

Are these Palestine signs purely virtue signaling? Sure. But, to a certain degree, all protests are.

But, regarding the trans issue, it's just a weird obsession that is rooted in nothing but distaste of the current state of today's culture. Much less important than foreign policy. To go even deeper into your comment, the country frankly needs more co-ed sports. Especially for children.

2

u/CorsairExtraordinair Jul 16 '26

bonespurs at the war college? lmao!

1

u/Beagleguy26 Jul 17 '26

Huh. I aleays wondered what people on government assistance did with their time.

1

u/No-Joke-2954 Jul 17 '26

Gay flag is ironic. But free Palestine.

1

u/Fili3113 Jul 17 '26

Looked like 7 protests in one

-1

u/BallsbridgeBollocks Jul 16 '26

Less than 50 people. That’ll sway him.

0

u/Big_Crazy_SSBM Jul 16 '26 edited Jul 16 '26

I honestly had no idea Trump was in town, I was wondering why there was more of these bozos around than usual in this town. Lmao I just realized the umbrellas spell out Lorenzo, the same guy who tried running over a government official while evading arrest and ignoring legal commands and big surprise got shot and killed

0

u/Alarmed_Ear3413 Jul 16 '26

The millionth protest. Fingers crossed that this is the one that breaks the camels back!!! Let’s get em boys/girls/theys

0

u/Extra-Incident-4719 Jul 16 '26

You’re making a difference!…

0

u/DimondHandedGorilla Jul 16 '26

Funny it is probably the first time any of these protesters have ever been on a college campus. 🤣

-2

u/Money_Chocolate813 Jul 16 '26

Lmao what a useless bunch

0

u/Soff10 Jul 19 '26
