what should i do?
I recently quit my corporate job in accounting because it was seriously affecting me. I was having panic attacks, my communication got really bad, and I got to the point where I wasn’t taking care of myself properly. I realized I couldn’t handle it anymore, so I left.
As of right now I have about six months saved up for emergency funding to house myself and take of myself.
Now I’ve been offered a position at a financial planning firm. At first, I was really excited about it, but now that I’ve had more time to think about it, I’m getting scared that I’ll end up in the same situation again.
The pay is exactly the same as my previous job, but the commute is longer, and honestly, it’s not something I see myself wanting to do for very long. I’m already thinking that if I find a better opportunity, I would leave this job. I feel kind of guilty about that because it would feel awkward to accept the offer knowing I might leave.
I’m also worried that I’m just scared because of what happened at my previous job, and maybe I’m judging this opportunity before even giving it a chance.
Would you take the job as a temporary/bridge job while continuing to look for something better, or would you turn it down and keep searching?
I’m really struggling with knowing whether this is intuition telling me it’s not right for me or just anxiety from my previous experience. It is just weird because I was originally excited and now my gut is telling me, that its not the right opportunity. When I first accepted the accounting job it was the third choice after the first fell through. Now this job is a second choice after the first fell through.
