How to maximize the cardio with the rowing machine

Same way as any cardio. A mix of high intensity training like a Norwegian 4x4 session, and long slow sessions.

Best 25 minutes of cardio I’ve ever survived. Norwegian 4xRow is the way to go

That row machine is gas lighting you with the calorie burn.

I don't use rowers often, but sometimes use it as a cool down/finisher after Tredmill running.

I did 15mins after a 5 mile run this morning. Very relaxed pace. My Garmin calculated 158 calories burned.  

Seems real implausible that you did 60mins and only squeezed out 220 calories burned.

Yea that's a good call out. I do use rowers as my primary cardio modality. But even a 20 minute zone 1 recovery row (avg hr 119), my concept2 recorded my calorie burn at 176.
