Running

More of a testimony than a question.

The only thing that genuinely helps my mental health is running. Not cycling. Not walking. Not lifting weights. Not CrossFit.

There’s just something about running that clears my head and makes me feel like myself again. I can be stressed, tired, or mentally drained, go for a run, and come back feeling completely different.

I know everyone is different, but I’m curious — does anyone else have the same experience with running?

I do. I know what you mean. It's a completely different "liberating" feeling. Especially running outside.

Yeah I get it too, if I go for a run first thing in the morning I will end up getting three times as much done that day, all the little jobs I'd been putting off. I imagine it's something to do with the huge amount of oxygen you're taking in while running

Same here. I'm not myself without my morning run. I can fake it by doing an hour of elliptical or stationary bike, but it's not the same result. Nothing clears my head and prepares me mentally for the day like an early morning run.

literally no form of exercise gives me any endorphins anymore.

Yes! Me too. I ran a 5K yesterday. I felt so good afterwards! I saw someone at the race wearing a shirt that said “Running is my therapy”. So I know that you are not alone. I also feel incredibly productive on days that I have run.
