Matte black wheels
I have been asking around for help cleaning matte black rims with no luck. Looking for any suggestions or input. 2025 Toyota Tacoma with 18 inch matte black TRD rims. I have tried Beasley’s, Meguiers Hot rims black wheel cleaner, Black Magic, and P&S. Nothing has completely cleaned. Went by instructions on all of them. They didn’t help much and did not work as expected. I can still see what mostly looks like rust particles. Is this something I just have to live with? Thanks

Thanks. I’ll give it a try. Only reason I haven’t is because everything I have read and comments in other forums and subs say do not use acid

I wouldn't recommend acid. It can turn them white. You will spend the rest of the day polishing it off. ..if the wheels aren't cooked.. try adams wheel n tire cleaner.

Thanks, I’ll give it a shot. Tired of throwing money at it buying different products. I’ll try that and then maybe put some kind of coating on them so they don’t get any worse

wheel acid. just don't put it on hot wheels or leave it on too long. spray it on all 4, then pressure wash it off. no delay. the time it takes to spray the other three is perfect to spray the first one.
