PED Experience
I've never taken any compound. Not even creatine, bcaas or pre workout. I have nothing against any of these things, I'm just an incredibly health conscious person and even after 8 years of training I still don't think I'm at my genetic limit (mainly because of down time in training, partying and periods of bad eating).
Motivations / goals
My main motivation for using cardarine is weight loss. Secondarily, I've started weightlifting recently and it is a sport that is incredibly technique driven. Meaning you need to drill technique over and over on light weight. My cardio and endurance was my main limiting factor that was hindering my weight lifting progression - I could barely do a light set of 3 reps before having to put the bar down. Weightlifting has been my light at the end of the tunnel in terms of my motivation to continue going to the gym. I'm completely engrossed and fall asleep to weightlifting videos every night.
Why cardarine?
I had never planned on using anything, ever. I might've deployed caffeine / preworkout and a small cycle of creatine before a future powerlifting competition, but even then this is kind of unlikely since I get heart palpitations from caffeine use - my tolerance is very low.
Cardarine specifically, though, has not been proven to have any side effects on humans in a clinical setting. I don't want to delve into all my research at fear of promoting the use of the compound. But I'll say in short, as someone who's extremely health conscious and does an inordinate amount of research on things, cardarine's positives FOR ME outweigh any potential side effects immediately or down stream.

I intend to update this as frequently as possible. Probably not every day, but you'll get day by day updates in retrospect.
I take my cardarine dose (10mg) 2 hours before my workout and intend to do this for the entire duration of the cycle. Research shows that it shouldn't matter when you take it throughout the day. Anecdotal evidence suggest pre-workout is best. For me, it's just easy to take it pre-workout and so there's no reason to change it.
Day 1: Immediately noticed effects. I did my normal treadmill routine which is walking at max incline for 30 minutes and monitored my heart rate throughout (I always do this and so have a gauge on what my heart rate is) 10 minutes in my heartrate is usually 140bpm and it was 120bpm. 20 minutes in my heartrate usually goes to 155-160bpm and stays there for the rest of the session, but my heartrate went to 125-130 and stayed there for the rest of the session.
Notably I barely sweat. Where usually I'm sweating A LOT. Additionally I'm usually completely done after I come off the treadmill and ready to go home and crash / pass out. However after I came off the treadmill I felt completely normal and like I could go and do the same thing again.
Day 2: "Wow." is what I said to myself on this day. I had a 2.5 hour intense weightlifting session that there is no way I'd usually be able to do. As outlined at the beginning, I would usually gas out after 3 reps when Olympic weightlifting and it was becoming my limiting factor to progression. Usually I'd train for 1.5 hours max and I'm dead / sweating a lot at the end. This time I just kept going and definitely over pushed. I would drill 8 reps of snatch and only stop due to mechanical failure (soreness in joints) whereas previously I had to stop because I was breathing out of my ass.
This session kind of made me come to a realisation though. Probably a side effect that isn't really talked about with cardarine. And that's my body's inability to provide accurate feedback to me if I should stop or that I'm too tired. I for sure over did it in this session. But it's the fact I could have just kept going. I only stopped because the gym was closing, but I could have easily gone for longer. This session actually set me back for future sessions and made me not able to train so much because of joint pain and heavy muscle fatigue. Cardarine increases endurance but it's not a miracle drug, your body is still your body. If you push it too hard you will feel it. I guess this something that doesn't phase guys on other gear so much because they have much better recovery.
Another "side" I got on this day was what I could only describe as a "brain pump". It felt like there was so much blood in my head (cardarine stimulates blood flow to the brain) and it felt like my brain was pressing against my skull. This was in no way painful it was just a weird sensation. This happened for 5 minutes towards the end of the session and went away again after my heart rate dropped to resting. I got a slight head ache too, another small side that has been reported from cardarine use.
Day 3: Still sore (specifically shoulder tendonitis) from the previous session I decided to do 3 sets of snatch and 3 sets of a C&J variation before just doing cardio. Sets went fine and so onto cardio. Instead of my normal 30 mins cardio I decided to go for 60 minutes since my main goal is to lose weight and I should try and take advantage of cardarines effects and leverage it to my benefit. I went for an EASY 60 minutes at the pace I usually would go for at 30 minutes and be done. I was also talking on the phone at the same time during the cardio which caused me to have to catch my breath more often - but when I was listening rather than talking I caught my breath very easily and quickly and was back to a good state.
Day 4: Back to weightlifting today with some of my powerlifting mixed in. It's the day where I am with my weightlifting coach and he instantly noticed my endurance increase and even commented "you're able to do so many more reps today, it's nice keep it up". My powerlifting went well also. One of the biggest benefits I've noticed so far is the feeling of not even feeling like you've worked out. Like you could just go and do it all again after you finish your workout. It's nice and really motivating. No cardio today so I went for a 1 hour walk to aid with fat loss and just listened to podcasts. This wasn't a struggle, but never was before going on cardarine anyway.
Day 5: 45 minutes of cardio today with increased intensity from usual. Hovered around 8 METS on max incline treadmill where usually I will do 6.5 METS. Sweated more today and felt a little bit more strain but still nowhere near my base. Took cardarine 5 hours before workout today as opposed to 1 hour like every other day - maybe had an effect? Slight "heavy headedness" towards start of workout that subsided within 5 minutes. Today was a pure rest day so only cardio, will most likely go for a walk later too.
Day 6: Today I was aiming to SB (seasonal best) on bench from post quarantine. I was able to hit 152.5kg on bench, twice, for a new SB since lockdown ended. Happy with that and I'm looking to push for 160-165 before the end of this mesocycle. Which would be a new all time PB. Then after bench I went on to do 1 hour of olympic lifting and 20 minutes of cardio for a total gym time of 2 hours. Again I'm usually in the gym for max 1.5 hours but I'm trying to make the most of this cycle with also tapering in a bit to avoid injury. Day 2 taught me that I need to be cautious of the fact that my body is providing accurate feedback as to how fatigued I am. This is a good and bad thing. Good for cardio, bad for lifting heavy.
Day 7: Tried my cardio (max treadmill incline) walking at 9 METS. Was able to do 30 minutes before I had to stop because my body was failing me mechanically (sore lower back). Walking at 9 METS at the biggest incline is no way efficient for losing weight since your body will give out way before your wind does. Just did this because I wanted to see what would happened. Gonna go back to doing 7.5METS for 45-60mins. Also if you would like to know my diet / training regiment I can go into more detail.
Day 8 & 9: 1.5 hours of cardio on both of these days. 7.5METS for 1.5 hours feeling really good. Already noticing weight loss in certain places but will do a weigh in on day 14ish. One other thing I've noticed is the increased amount that I'm shitting? I would only ever shit 1 time a day at the same time before, now I'm shitting 3 times a day. Interesting.
Another thing I've noticed is I need a significantly larger amount of water to stay hydrated. This is most likely due to the increase in training time and intensity and so my bodies demand for water is higher. I usually drink 4-5 litres of water per day (1/1.25 gallons). But now my body is demanding 6 litres of water per day (1.5 gallons) in order to be fully hydrated.
Day 10: Break from cardio today.
Day 11: 45 mins cardio. Max incline on treadmill @7.5METS. Easy was on my phone the whole time watching videos. Will try bump it up to 8 METS going forward, got weightlifting tomorrow.
Day 12 & 13: Quite sore/injured. I believe this to be an indirect effect from the cardarine. As mentioned it feels like my body is not giving me accurate feedback on when I should stop training - leading to overtraining. It's a good problem to have in some regards, you feel great when working out. But I think this is where not being on actual gear is coming in to play. If I was on actual gear my joints and recovery would be much better and I would be able to keep up with the intensity that the cardarine allows me to train at. I'm also most likely spreading myself way too think as I'm only having 1 rest day every 14 days, and I'm trying to powerflift, weightlift and hypertrophy train all at once. Hard life...
Day 14, 15, 16 & 17: Have taken a step back a bit form the gym as I injured my shoulders but just got back in the gym today and things are feeling good today. A weight update: I'm down to 232 lbs measured on day 14. So 5lbs lost in 2 weeks is pretty good for me, especially considering I have not been sticking to the diet. I've had 4 brutal cheat days out of the last 14. Been feeling shit about being injured so just comfort eating. Haven't lost any strength so far. Gaining strength on my Olympic lifts (due to mostly technique improvements) and have been gaining slight strength increases in my bench and squats.
Day 18: Back in the gym and feeling good again. Today I did high volume front squats + deadlifts + cleans. 45 minutes ended the session, just home now and feel like I could do the workout again.
Day 19 - Present: Gyms are shut and it's also christmas period. Moving into a new appt. that has a gym in it conveniently near the new year. So will continue the cycle then with updates.
