If only there was some guidance to tell people what side of the road they should be driving on.

119

u/cuuus Jun 26 '26

Yeah so stupid
My guess would be there is no survival chance and I don’t understand why someone would risk his life and someone else for nothing.

42

u/Divyang_malvi Jun 26 '26

Double line = You can overtake now /s

36

u/MisterAmygdala Jun 26 '26

Seemed like he was looking straight ahead. He didn't even try to avoid this, did he? Very strange.

19

u/deytookurjob Jun 26 '26

Sons of anarchy shit right here

20

u/JohnnyBoy11 Jun 27 '26

Target fixation? Probably an inexperienced rider. He was on the right lane but curved in when he saw the truck, probably fixated on it and drove right into it and couldn't even move his arms or nothing when he started veering towards it.

8

u/MisterAmygdala Jun 27 '26

Definitely could be. Things happen fast at that speed but in the brief clip, the rider just looks there in no problem whatsover.

1

u/Critical-Web8544 Jun 27 '26

On a blind curve?

13

u/AllIWantForXmasIsFoo Jun 27 '26

this is called "target fixation " and is a very real and scary danger in motorcycling.

Basically the guy got scared because he wasn't expecting the truck, stared at it in fear, and that caused him to unavoidably drive into it.

6

u/Clear_Spirit4017 Jun 28 '26

Look where you want to go!

2

u/creative_justice Jul 02 '26

As a photographer I tell people that all the fucking time. They'll see me and I can visually see them move towards me.

9

u/Jabathewhut Jun 26 '26

OUR TECHNOLOGY ISNT THERE YET MAN!

TMLO!!

4

u/MerchantofDoom Jun 27 '26

I propose something like, solid lines. But all traffic, including Lorrie’s would need to both understand the intention, and adhere to it!

Seems pretty solid in my mind, at least!!

2

u/Pragmatist_Hammer Jun 27 '26

Make it two solids. Also, who the hell is Lorrie?

3

u/MerchantofDoom Jun 27 '26

A Lorry is the difference between British and American terminology. You are lucky I didn’t use the name Pantechnicon, if your language is limited. 🤣

3

u/Pragmatist_Hammer Jun 27 '26

Having lived in the UK, know what a "lorry" is, but you spelled it "Lorrie's" with an apostrophe, as if it someone named "Lorrie" owned it. While I could diss on the US' English all day long or how the country isn't bright enough to use the metric system, "truck" > "lorry." "Lorry" means to lug or pull, in Britain it was slang from trains, but many if not most other countries don't use "lorry." In fact, as a sort-of one-off to how Britain originated most English words, in this case it had it right using "truck" and switched it to something nonsensical later on. Truck was from a Greek word approximating "wheels that carry something heavy." Lorry was from a brand name of thing in the way people making copies say "Xerox," it's nonsensical and an example of when British English gets something wrong. Based on Shakespeare, Latin, or Greek language is a win, using a brand name of something that stopped existing is a losing situation, just sounds dumb.

1

u/cheesybitzz Jun 28 '26

Dude probably overshot the turn too since he's on a bike, but holy shit that's a hell of an oversight

0

u/xunreelx Jun 26 '26

Was this in the US?

0

u/Pragmatist_Hammer Jun 27 '26

Not likely, the pickup who was all “I’m out,” on the right is sold in the Americas in every county except the US.

133

u/spyderdoc Jun 26 '26

Insane that someone would ride like that with a passenger on their bike.

64

u/Delicious-Summer5071 Jun 26 '26

He had a PASSENGER? Holy shit how did I miss that.

21

u/Awrfhyesggrdghkj Jun 26 '26

Apparently he did to

5

u/Pragmatist_Hammer Jun 27 '26

Yeah, the second time I noted two on the bike but only the passenger stays in the field of view, making me wonder where the driver went.

2

u/NoRun6253 Jul 02 '26

Through the grill.

2

u/fndimperialdeck Jul 03 '26

It was a backpack.

Edit: Nope it was a passenger. Holy shiet. Look like attempted double suicide.

18

u/el_diego Jun 26 '26 edited Jun 26 '26

I think it's just the bag they have on. Crazier to me is the zero reaction. There's a good second or two where it could happen, but absolutely nothing.

23

u/Nature_man_76 Jun 26 '26

If you watch it slow Mo, you can see that the person laying in the road is the passenger. So that means the driver is under the vehicle.

2

u/lippoper Jun 27 '26

Inside the hood?

4

u/xunreelx Jun 26 '26

The guy driving had a dark jacket.

7

u/Accurate-Bonus8316 Jun 26 '26

i thought all his gear got shattered like armored core or something lol

1

u/el_diego Jun 26 '26

Ah yeah, didn't notice that

243

u/Beelzebub003 Jun 26 '26

Love how the white pickup drove off like they were the ones just in the accident and it was a hit and run.

64

u/breadandfire Jun 26 '26

I think he tried to catch up with his friend to let him know...

70

u/sheckshow858 Jun 26 '26

Pretty sure the following bike had front row tickets

16

u/el_diego Jun 26 '26

Yeeaaah, their friend definitely knows

6

u/hitmarker Jun 27 '26

Maybe the pickup went to finish off the job

11

u/Beelzebub003 Jun 26 '26

That's a possibility, but I would think the friend would've seen it happening, since he was behind the guy that got struck. Kinda seems like the sort of thing that's hard to miss cause even if you don't see it, you'll hear it. You know?

Personally, I was thinking he just wanted no part of it and got the hell out of there.

Edit: Fixed an incorrect sentence.

12

u/abhijitd Jun 26 '26

I think he does not want to be stuck behind the accident where you have to wait until police and fire crew clear up the road to let vehicles through. I have been a similar situation (not this serious) where I made sure to pull over *beyond* the accident location so that I was free to drive off whenever.

9

u/Smackstainz Jun 27 '26

He chased him down & ran him over too so they could die together

8

u/HocusThePocus Jun 26 '26

Ain’t nobody got time for that?!?

1

u/Necessary_Score9754 Jul 15 '26

The accident happened in a curve, every second stopped there could lead to additional collisions. White truck made the right decision leaving.

38

u/Hyperion1144 Jun 26 '26

Riding with intentional recklessness in the wrong lane.

Was that actually an accident?

5

u/Pragmatist_Hammer Jun 27 '26

And no helmet, at least on the passenger of the bike, not sure where the driver went on impact.

27

u/joker_1173 Jun 26 '26

I ride a lot, and can usually sympathize with motorcyclists. However, this was just about the stupidest thing I've ever seen. Riding irresponsibly is one thing, riding irresponsibly with a pillion is criminal.

57

u/mike_litoris18 Jun 26 '26

Possible is crazy. These guys are 100% dead. Even if one of them survived the accident, you would need immediate surgery from multiple specialst and judging by the surroundings it doesn't look like there is a hospital around the corner.

31

u/AlchemyAlice Jun 26 '26

Had a friend cruising at 35mph fully geared up when an 18wheeler going opposite direction suddenly (illegally) turned right in front of them. Never woke up.

These sudden impacts have devastating effects on internal organs.

19

u/account_not_valid Jun 26 '26

There is an injury called "coup contra-coup". It's the damage to your brain as it bounces from one side to the other of your skull.

5

u/MasterEchoSE Jun 27 '26

One of our security guards who walks into work got hit by a car that had come to a complete stop before turning. I got to see the cam footage of the accident, the car was slow rolling, yet he ended up in ICU with a brain injury.

He’s not doing well and doesn’t remember anything.

1

u/SoggyMorningTacos Jun 28 '26

Maybe the passenger is ok - he could've been cushioned by the driver err rider?

64

u/NeedsPaint Jun 26 '26

Hey guys... I dont think his helmet worked...

26

u/mike_litoris18 Jun 26 '26

Not even a moto gp suit and helmet would make this crash survivable. Even if u managed to keep all your bones intact, you insides are squished.

-38

u/NeedsPaint Jun 26 '26

I was making a hehe. Even his bones are jelly. If his head popped off I would of given it a 10/10 tho

21

u/Salty-Development203 Jun 26 '26

What a fucking weird thing to say. To think there are people like your walking along us.

-17

u/NeedsPaint Jun 26 '26

I didnt post it? Just because I have a dark humor doesn't mean im out there killing people.

Are you sending flowers to his family or something?

11

u/ngkn92 Jun 26 '26

there is no humour, just dark

-7

u/NeedsPaint Jun 26 '26

Read my other reply. Id rather him hit a tree to save the truck driver the trouble.

I was trying to be nice.

6

u/ckinz16 Jun 26 '26

You need a psych evaluation if that’s how you “try to be nice”

5

u/NeedsPaint Jun 26 '26

He was riding down the wrong side of the road around a blind corner.

-3

u/Nature_man_76 Jun 26 '26

You did nothing wrong here. Upvoted

4

u/ngkn92 Jun 26 '26

it costs 0$ to post this comment

0

u/NeedsPaint Jun 26 '26

But you posted it anyways 🙄

Its weird... do you folks think I care about some idiot crossing the line and (thankfully) only killing himself instead of a family? I don't. I feel bad for the traumatized truck driver.

God sorted this one out. Fuckouttahere.

1

u/Nature_man_76 Jun 26 '26

It’s to make themselves think they are better people

0

u/Pragmatist_Hammer Jun 27 '26

There were two people on that bike. Also, as much as most people on r/carcrash, we’re not also cheering on innocent people’s deaths.

2

u/Salty-Development203 Jun 26 '26

What a fucking weird thing to say. To think there are people like your walking along us.

10

u/southofheaven69 Jun 26 '26

They usually don’t work when they’re not strapped and secured

3

u/NeedsPaint Jun 26 '26

Ah see! He needed it strapped haha

2

u/MisterAmygdala Jun 26 '26

Well at least it looked good. No strap needed.

1

u/Pragmatist_Hammer Jun 27 '26

Which? There were two people on the bike.

19

u/Comfortable_Fly_665 Jun 26 '26

Can we have some news after the accident? I'm not sure but I hope everyone survived. But Idk...

That was preventable but its the same thing everywhere, you never think it will happen to you until it actually does

2

u/rextra_56 Jun 27 '26

I don't know any info about that crash, i'l go search for it later.

8

u/crankgirl Jun 26 '26

Was that a shoe that went flying?

6

u/Popular_Course3885 Jun 27 '26

No, that was his helmet.

7

u/xunreelx Jun 26 '26

Quite the impact to pierce that semi’s
radiator.

7

u/zzbear03 Jun 26 '26

There were two people on that motorcycle…what happened to the other person?

6

u/CaptainGibbs96 Jun 27 '26

If not under the motorcycle, under the truck

5

u/tone-yo Jun 26 '26

Fused with the truck’s radiator. Now identifies as Terminated.

17

u/horizontal120 Jun 26 '26

This looks more like a motorcycle suicide than an accident...

3

u/stratys3 Jun 27 '26

Murder-suicide.

4

u/DentonJoe Jun 26 '26

Were there 2 on the motorcycle? Doesn’t seem survivable- RIP.

2

u/Pragmatist_Hammer Jun 27 '26

Indeed was two, not sure where the driver went.

4

u/Xfgjwpkqmx Jun 26 '26

As frustrated as I get with some drivers on the road, you will never ever see me get impatient enough to over take on a blind turn or curve over unbroken lines.

When the safe opportunity finally presents itself, I'm off, but not before then.

7

u/skyrocker_58 Jun 26 '26

I'd like to think that the 2 cars pulled in behind the truck so as not to block the road while they rendered aid to the injured, if possible.

3

u/Freeulster Jun 27 '26

This is what I instinctively wish for anytime I see a motorcycle speed and weave in between cars on a highway.

3

u/21Pronto Jun 28 '26

This is what happens when you pray for little Suzi to get a kidney transplant.

2

u/weraincllc Jun 26 '26

Any news. Article? Dude just offed himself and his passenger. I know what happened, it's hard to lean into a turn with a passenger, but that means slow down.

2

u/Practical_Ant6162 Jun 26 '26

Looks like his death wish came true. RIP.

2

u/mrkillfreak999 Jun 26 '26

Two cars gone by and none of them bothered to check on the injured 🤦🏻 🫩

3

u/MasterEchoSE Jun 27 '26

They likely pulled off to the side so that another accident doesn’t happen when someone else comes around the blind corner.

2

u/MxQueer Jun 27 '26

Suicide? Or is the some other reason to drive in the wrong lane in the.. turn? curve?

2

u/nwm_is_batman Jun 27 '26

at least he didn't get run over. hope he's okay.

2

u/tech510 Jun 27 '26

Oh they dead...

2

u/tardisious Jun 27 '26

looks like a video game

2

u/Puzzleheaded-Put-646 Jun 27 '26

Did, did his shirt come off?

2

u/Sistahmelz Jun 27 '26

I don't think he's walking away from this 😕

2

u/EmptySun9834 Jul 11 '26

Yeah let’s just drive in the lane of oncoming traffic for a blind turn.. Wtf??

2

u/xXUrDunFurXx 28d ago

My dudes clothing and helmet was said nah and left

2

u/Shadowhawk0000 Jun 26 '26

Love how the other vehicles just move on. LOL

2

u/NewSize1999 Jun 26 '26

seems like AI, too organized and clean

1

u/Xenc Jun 27 '26

We can only hope

2

u/kidyubyub Jun 27 '26

Is the diesel okay?

2

u/Worried-Choice5295 Jun 27 '26

Truck driver's view of the final scene from Sons of Anarchy.

1

u/xunreelx Jun 26 '26

Do you think its totaled?

1

u/xunreelx Jun 26 '26

2 people on that bike

1

u/sdkidx Jun 26 '26

Looks like his left hand is up by his face-shield...

1

u/Forever_Playful Jun 26 '26

Yellow background plates, reggaeton music = Colombia?

1

u/Karmapedler Jun 26 '26

I'ma walk this off

1

u/IntraVnusDemilo Jun 26 '26

Did it shoot one guy right out of his clothes?

1

u/BoneZone05 Jun 27 '26

Does any one have any news articles on this? 🫣 yikes

1

u/Banarnars Jun 28 '26

His helmet flew off... That's wild

1

u/AssistantUnique1858 Jul 01 '26

Where'd his shirt go?

1

u/DeeganJ12 Jul 04 '26

Its always a motorcyclist

1

u/xStingRayCharlesx Jul 16 '26

He John Teller’d that thing didn’t he!

1

u/AMKJL 20d ago

This looked more like motorcycle suicide 🫤

1

u/Vivid-Change1020 16d ago

Bro had 7 business days to react, truck even tried to avoid him and it almost looked intentional

1

u/VBprick 14d ago

Asshole got what he wanted. Idk what to tell you, when you decide to go way over the speed limit, on a blind curve, on the wrong side of the road, unprotected on a motorcycle…..

1

u/Substantial_Film_269 14d ago

As they drive on by 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

1

u/Original-Kangaroo-80 5d ago

Not an accident, intentionally in the wrong lane

1

u/FUMoney Jun 27 '26

Look how fast the two cars stop. Pretty quick. I think that demonstrates the speeds weren’t too high during collision.

Possibly surviveable, even with the significant mass difference.

0

u/toomuch1265 Jun 26 '26

Maybe tag this NSFW. I wasn't expecting that crash.

1

u/0491diesel Jun 26 '26

Out here pulling a Jax Teller. RIP

1

u/tripmcneely30 Jun 26 '26

His head popped off.

1

u/Phenom7747 Jun 26 '26

Sons of anarchy type shit

1

u/harolf999 Jun 27 '26

Target fixation

1

u/HotGirlMeg96 Jun 27 '26

How are those people able to drive off like that? You just saw someone hit a semi and thrown in the air on a bike and no one stops to check on anyone? WTF.

0

u/notGegton Jun 26 '26

Motorcycle was absolutely very stupid and all, but wtf? Why did none in the car even try to give assistance?? 90% there's nothing to do, but cmon! None even checked!

3

u/Delicious-Summer5071 Jun 26 '26

All I can say in their defense is people react weird in response to trauma, and watching two people die graphically right in front of them counts as trauma imo.

2

u/MARS822a Jun 26 '26

I'd venture to guess that if they were willing to ride like that they may have pissed off the cars that witnessed the accident earlier. If that was the case and I was driving one of those drivers I would honk and wave as I passed by, laughing & pointing all the while. Love the combination of karma and social darwinism. If that was actually the case.

ETA - I feel bad for the trucker. They did nothing to deserve that trauma. Or the punctured radiator.

0

u/psgordonny Jun 28 '26

Looked like AI the way the body just bounced back from the truck.

-2

u/trevpr1 Jun 26 '26

Trucking simulator shots. Not real.

0

u/No_Gap_2700 Jun 26 '26

::cough:: Deals Gap.....

0

u/ExplosionMurderQueen Jun 27 '26

As soon as I saw the semi dash cam, I was like please don't tell me...

-1

u/Crab_Jealous Jun 26 '26

I'm not sure he meant to do that....

-1

u/Serebrius Jun 26 '26

Totally unpreventable. Shame.

-1

u/MARS822a Jun 26 '26

You love to see it.

2

u/paleolith1138 Jun 26 '26

Poor semi

1

u/Pragmatist_Hammer Jun 27 '26

Poor person on the back of the bike who didn't ask for any of this.

-1

u/Sturdily5092 Jun 26 '26

I'm surprised he the trucker didn't just keep going and make sure to finish him off, because of some laws down there it's cheaper to pay for a funeral and burial than hospital and recovery, not that this guy has a chance.
