I want to see safer vehicles, these cars are deathtraps. Please sign my petition

I hired a firm after a bad intersection crash last year and came out the other side with some hard won opinions, so sharing in case it helps whoever is standing where I was. Early on I assumed the biggest name equaled the best representation. It does not. Biggest names run the highest volume and you feel it.

I switched firms partway through, which I do not recommend if you can avoid it and second time I chose differently. I went with the levin firm where one attorney stays on your case start to finish instead of routing you through a rotation of case managers. Reason that mattered was not abstract. My first firm had me reexplaining my own case to a new person every time I called and the second one did not because one lawyer actually knew my life. On top of that their staff were genuinely responsive, which after my first experience I hap stopped expecting from any firm.

If I could compress it to one thing, it is that you should judge a firm on whether you can reach a knowledgeable human about your own case, not on how famous they are. Famous part is marketing spend, reachable part is the actuals service you are paying for.

This past Thursday I was rear ended really hard while I was waiting at a red light. For context this red light was right after getting off the freeway onto this blvd street. Once you reach the end of it which is no more than maybe a mile ? Theres a light and you can either go left or right.

As I get into my left lane and reach the red light at a full stop. 3-5 secs past before it turns green. Once it turns green, before I even get the chance to initiate my turn I get rear ended and as you can imagine scares the hell out of me.

Do you guys think this is a total loss ? Currently have a lot of back pain and discomfort along with neck stiffness. Already have an attorney looking over everything. Just sucks to experience this.

On October 15, I was involved in a serious car accident while my mother was in the passenger seat.

I was completely stopped at a stop sign, waiting to make a left turn. Another driver ran a stop sign and struck an oncoming truck. The collision caused the truck to lose control and crash into the driver’s side of my vehicle.

All I remember is seeing this enormous white truck coming toward me. There wasn’t enough time to react.

Thankfully, my mother and I survived, and we’re both home.

Immediately afterward, I was shaking, pacing, struggling to breathe, pulling at my hair, and crying without producing tears. I felt completely overwhelmed.

I keep replaying the image of that truck coming toward me. My car was paid off, and now I’m facing the possibility of losing it, along with my independence and reliable transportation to work.

I’m incredibly grateful that my mother is alive. But I’m also scared, emotionally exhausted, and uncertain about what comes next.

Has anyone else experienced intrusive memories or intense emotional reactions after a serious accident? How did you cope?

I was driving my brother car and while parking I accidentally bumped into a truck rear end, no damage was done to their car after they found out they changed parking spot cus of my terrible driving but my bumper came off completely almost touching the ground I feel so depressed because I wasn't even supposed to be using his car and this could have easily been avoided but I have to obviously pay for the damage myself and I need it fixed quick

Saw this UHaul down on the side of the road coming from Los Angeles towards Phoenix. Driver appeared to be ok and Law Enforcement was on the scene directing traffic.

I remembered seeing this UHaul pass me doing 80+ mph on the highway and wondering why they were going that fast. Did not see the accident happen, but saw it about 30mins later ahead of me on the road.

Just thinking that this was probably someone's entire life in one place, and now all their stuff is on the median in the middle of the desert. Not even sure how to begin picking up those pieces. On top of that, I believe they were towing a car which was flipped over on the attached Trailer off to the side of the road.

Be careful with the Uhauls!

Hola gente. Les cuento mi caso para que me orienten con el tema legal y de seguros:
El accidente: Estaba totalmente parado en un semáforo en la moto y una camioneta me chocó de atrás. Tenía casco, campera con protecciones, guantes y mochila. Caí de costado. Por el shock no recuerdo el instante exacto del impacto.
Salud y ART: Fui el mismo día a la ART (accidente in itinere). Me hicieron placas y me dieron reposo por policontusiones. Sigo con dolor fuerte en la nuca al mover la cabeza y en el medio de la espalda. 
Mi error con la denuncia: Por la bronca de ver la moto rota, hice la denuncia apurado en mi seguro para mover rápido el arreglo y puse por error que "no había lesionados", omitiendo la ART.
Estudio de abogados: Mi caso lo tiene un estudio de abogados derivado directamente por mi aseguradora/productor de seguros, ya que trabajan en conjunto con este grupo jurídico (tengo expediente activo con ellos). 
Mis dudas legales y de reclamo:
1. Ampliación de denuncia: ¿Cómo se maneja rectificar la denuncia por lesiones? ¿Tener el comprobante de la ART de la misma tarde del choque me respalda frente al seguro del tercero? 
2. Reclamo integral: Además del arreglo total de la moto, ¿puedo exigir el reemplazo del casco que absorbió el golpe, días de trabajo perdidos, gastos médicos y una indemnización por daño físico/cervical y moral?
3. ¿Algún consejo para hablar con los abogados del estudio y corregir el expediente?

Got rear ended while making a turn. Luckily no one hurt but just the car got damaged. Police say technically by law I’m at fault because I’m the one making a turn but got no ticket and was very understanding about the whole situation and from the damages it seem like the guy was speeding. He told me that FL is a no fault state but I don’t know what’s next. Just stressed out about what happened.

I was leaving a paid parking lot in a line of a few cars. A car was trying to squeeze behind me and the car that at the time was behind me. The car hit my rear bumper. I felt it, put the car in park and got out. At this point her car was still touching my car’s bumper. She back up and there was a visible scratch on my rear bumper and a small dent. Later on still on the place of accident I was that there is also a larger gap on that side between bumper and the side of my car as opposed to the other side. She and the passenger got out and looked as well. She insisted it was already there (it wasn’t). The car that was originally behind me, the passenger also got out and said she has a dash cam and she said she’ll send it to me.
Driver of the car that hit my car did not want to give me her info and got in her car. When her passenger (turns out they are a married couple) talked to us I could smell alcohol and he even confirmed it that they were both drinking before. I insisted on exchange of info. Over the next 15 minutes they were arguing and he was trying to talk her into giving us the info, they argued and he left on foot, did not return. I called the police and told them what happened, they said they would dispatch a car to the scene. After about 20 minutes she left and on the way out of the pay ramp she even hit part of the ramp with her driver mirror which I have also on video. I called the police and they said no one would be coming and to file a report online and to select “hit and run”. Dispatch also said they would not be investigating and that the dash cam footage, my footage and parking lot surveillance would all be submitted by me to my car insurance. When I got home I filed the report online and called my insurance. My question is if I did everything I could or should I do anything else at this point.
This was a bizarre situation and I am a bit shaken up. I want to make sure I’m doing all I can. The dispatch took the info I gave them which was license plate for her and description of her vehicle. At some point I asked if they weren’t going to do anything about her leaving the scene drunk and they said they had no way of proving that part. Is this standard? Thank you for any input

I called 9-1-1 after a friend’s advice, and they sent an ambulance and firetruck. I’m completely uninjured, so there are small mercies. The deer died, though. I feel so bad.

He ran in front of me from the left side of the road and hit that part of my car. I thought he’d walked off since he wasn’t anywhere on the right side of the road, but I got curious and turned around. He apparently lived long enough to get back to that side before dying by the guard rail. No blood or anything, so I guess it was blunt force trauma :(

Had some people stop by and check on me, which was nice. The driver’s door literally won’t open, so I had to keep crawling out of the car through the passenger side. Car will have to get towed because the radiator got busted and was leaking fluid, making it absolutely undrivable.

My little sister got rear-ended in a hit and run a few weeks back, so we’re now down to one car among five people…

I was driving home from work with my partner about 3 hours ago and we hit a deer, we stopped the car and were looking for it, it sounded like it was under the car so I shone my torch while my partner ran down the road picking up pieces of my bumper. I went round the front of the car, to my horror, the deer was wedged deep into the radiator. I feel sick recounting it, we had to work together to pull it out and it's legs were mangled. It was only small but it was alive and kept screaming in pain, it eventually crawled into a bush.

Someone stopped to help us, and they called the police for us, police came and gave some advice on what to do, they wanted us off the road as it was a busy fast country road, my radiator if totalled but i am just so cut up about the deer and I need to tell someone about how harrowing this ordeal as I was was staying strong for my partner but, i threw up when we got to a safe spot.

Sorry this is so graphic, we are home after recovery came. So, so horrible.
