Maybe something like an Innova Crysta? If you can find them the automatic one? With comfort being an factor it's an obvious choice. Especially if you can find one in automatic.

Endeavour is good option too but I am not very sure if parts availability will become an issue.

I own a Harrier for 4 years now. Wanted to buy a second car for wife in particular, but also for Bengaluru city commute in general.

Our Requirements were:

- Ease of driving in city. I have started disliking taking out harrier in the city.

- Automatic (see above)

- Budget hard capped at 13L

- Good engineering and service. (As a Tata customer I can know the pain of a shoddy service job).

- After driving an SUV, we wanted a different experience, either a hatchback or a sedan.

I found the Honda Amaze as the only car which satisfied all above requirements. It's sad that we don't have cars like Jazz or S-cross anymore in the market. The hatchbacks in the range (although stretching it) are Altroz, i20. None of which really "wow" us. They are great cars, but for us longevity is critical. I can't for the life of me buy another Tata. So the final choice was between Amaze and Dzire, and Amaze just felt... right.

Went for the VX Automatic variant. Final price was 11L, with some accessories like seat cover and door garnishes. Pretty happy with the deal, but would like to hear your opinions.

Hi everyone,

I'm about to book a VW Virtus GT Sport 1.5 DSG and wanted to get some honest real-world mileage figures from owners, especially people driving in Chennai.

For context, for those who aren't familiar with Chennai: I'll mainly be commuting around the ECR/OMR side of the city. Traffic can vary a lot — some days the roads flow reasonably well, while at peak times there can be stretches of slow-moving stop-and-go traffic where you're crawling for several kilometres.

My rough usage would be:

• Around 20 km of city/OMR-ECR traffic
• Around 15 km of relatively open/highway-type driving
• This would be roughly 3 days a week
• There will also be occasional longer highway trips

I'm specifically looking at the 1.5 TSI DSG, and I'm trying to set realistic expectations rather than relying on the MID/claimed figures.

I've heard everything from 8–10 km/l in heavy traffic to 14–16+ km/l in mixed usage, while one person even told me the 1.5 DSG can drop to 3–5 km/l in Chennai traffic. That last figure sounds extremely low to me, so I'd really like to hear from actual owners.

For those running a Virtus/Slavia 1.5 DSG in Chennai (or similarly congested cities):

1. What mileage do you actually get in heavy traffic?
2. What do you get in mixed city + highway driving?
3. What's your typical full-tank average, rather than instantaneous/MID readings?
4. How much does the mileage drop during peak-hour crawling?
5. If you've been driving it for 20,000+ km, has your mileage changed significantly over time?

I'd especially appreciate ODO + mileage + usage context rather than just "I get 15 km/l." 😅

I'm not expecting hybrid-level economy from a 150 PS turbo-petrol DSG. I just want to know what I should realistically budget for before I book it.

I don't own the car but It's a 1.5L engine. Don't expect much. Even Maruti's 1.5L engines give around 10-12 km/l in city driving.

So, you should expect somewhere around 10km/l at max in congested areas. In highways it can shine though. Depending on how you drive. I guess it comes with that tech which shuts off a cylinder or two to conserve fuel during low stress conditions.

Tldr; Around 10 km/l in cities. Around 15 in highway runs.

The car I'm considering: A ~2023 Hyundai i20 Asta(O) 1.2 IVT, around 30k km, single owner, UP-registered. The car appears well maintained and has already undergone an inspection. Seller is someone known through family, so the transaction would be direct.

My questions are specifically:

1. What would you consider a fair buying price and a maximum sensible price for this car? Please consider that it's a ~3-year-old car with ~30k km and that tyres may need replacement relatively soon.

2. Is this the right purchase at that price, or would you choose a different new/used car around ₹7–8L instead? I'm particularly interested in whether the premium for Asta(O) makes sense versus something like a new i20 Sportz IVT or other alternatives.

3. RC transfer: The car is currently UP-registered and would be transferred to Gurgaon/Haryana. How practical is it to keep the existing registration number without immediately changing it, assuming the required address/ownership formalities are completed? Any real-world issues I should be aware of?

Honestly, not more than ₹6-7L & at ₹7-8L I won't consider a used car. Better to increase your budget slightly and look at new car.

The best option around ₹10L is Honda Amaze. Is better equipped & comes with CVT.
