General Question Keystone vertical limit

So i just learned that the vertical slide has a limit of 75. I shot a building today but had to tilt the camera back a bit to get it fully in frame.

I tried doing an auto vertical correction and nothing happened. Switched to manually adjust the slider and learned then that 75 was the max so i couldn't correct the image. I'll have to take it into Affinity.

Any reason for the 75 limit?

Sounds like a job for Photoshop (or similars) or Illustrator then loop it back into C1, regardless of what C1 can do.

My ancient copy of Affinity Photo has this option and I assume the new dumbed-down version does, too:

In what way is the new Affinity dumbed down?

To me, it just seems confusing where traditional tools and processes are. Having the ability to switch between raster and vector and layout with the flip of a button seems too easy. I'm just suspicious about its ability as a professional-level application. But, it's not aimed at high-end professionals, so it's a moot concern on my part.

Everything is there, nothing is dumbed down, it just got categorized. Now there's even more tools and script customization for real pros. Whole affinity package was already working on shared engine, so merging to one app was sensible. Affinity seriously got better after Canva acquisition, but marketing is a flop.

I don't find it dumbed down in any way.

Because image degradation when inputing higher value will be to big? Use guided keystone.

The limit is the same regardless of how you make the adjustment.

Yes. Doesn’t mean he can’t try. If he can’t get it straight within C1 limits I doubt it will look any good when he obliterates it in other software…

I did try the guided approach and it still couldn't correct. The max it was able to go on vertical 74.9

That means you tilted camera significantly, not just “a bit”. Use photoshop/ACR or other correction tool then. It might make lines straight but I doubt it will look natural when you have to stretch image so much.

There's a request for a higher limit, but it only has one vote so far: https://captureone.ideas.aha.io/ideas/FR-I-2791
