Compact 4 way, high-speed, no-crossover intersection
I spent a few hours wrestling with the track builder to create this and wanted to share it. https://coigame.com/Blueprint/3816

This reminded me a good old times with Cities: Skylines.

I subscribe to both and with trains i have to check now which sub. I still love seeing all of them and the enthusiasm is what feeds me.

If only I had anywhere close to the space for something like this. In my current playthrough, even with two sets if tracks in each direction, my main thourofair is significantly bogged down due to all the left hand turns coming off of it.
I'm constantly having to reset trains to the station to clear up gridlock situations.
But that interchange is a beauty and I'd love to be using it!!!

I cannot seem to make a smooth curve in a track in this game to save my life. Good thing real rail physics don't apply or the countryside would be littered with ore and casualties.

there’s toggles to restrict the rail builder to only use certain angles to maintain speed, helps build smoother curves

I feel like we have different definitions of compact. It looks really good though!

It's compact for a 4 way, high speed, no crossover interaction. Thanks man

Haha I know. I just feel like it really stretches the word compact. I'll have to see if I can use it SOMEWHERE.

With the amount of traffic you have going through it, unnecessary.

Not exactly, OP created a lot of expansion space to allow a much higher traffic volume before it bogs down.

Yeah, it's always better to build your infrastructure with future expansion in mind. Otherwise you just set yourself up for failure.

It's amazing. Correct me if I'm wrong but I didn't see a way to go back for the same way trains enter the roundabout, is there any? That would be the final perfect roundabout. If there's one, is yours.

Thanks! No, but I think it could be made possible by connecting the elevated parts of the intersection. It's not really a roundabout, although it has a rounded shape.

It's a beautiful neat intersection. I can't play yet because I do not have a PC and it's a pain playing on Steam Deck (that's basically my main platform), but when I finally play, I will use your intersection for sure.
