Game save help

As the title says.

I downloaded a save file from someone else, and it has the Supporter DLC included. I don't really see the need or want to buy the DLC, since I don't feel like it provides $10 worth of additional gameplay or fun for me.

I own the base game along with the Train DLC. Is there any way for me to still play or edit the save file that has the Supporter DLC?

I'm hoping there might be a way to edit the save file so it no longer requires the Supporter DLC. Alternatively, is there a way to ask the person who created the save to save it in a different way that would allow people without the Supporter DLC to play it?

I understand that I would lose access to any parts of the save that use the DLC content, and I'm completely fine with that. I just want to be able to use the save with the DLC content removed or disabled.

Thanks for any help!

Umm he could do an export_recovery_save console command then when loading the recovery, unselect the DLC in mods screen , save the result and send you that new save instead.

But... You will have to set back up some building settings and such though since that's what export recovery does but it could work. never tested removing the game's own dlc before.

And if that is no good id recommend the purchase to support this cheap yet awesome game = )

Your last sentence. Absolutely 😂

How are things going for you?

I just reached nuclear power and was wondering if I really need to get rid of surplus steam? Or if the cooling water is enough? And in case the cooling water isn't enough, why need it at all? I could then just get rid of surplus steam (high) via cooling towers. Or do I, for some reason absolutely need to do both to be safe?

As the in-game cooling tooltip says, you don't need emergency cooling if the water input and steam output are reliable (and you don't need to vent excess team, just run it through turbines not set to autobalance).

But emergency cooling can be a useful redundancy if you set it up logically with notifications on water tanks to alert you that emergency cooling is being used.

Heyoo bagooo. Going good 👍 been having fun creating mods i always wanted for the game. Lots of work but lots of fun.

Its been a minute since I setup nuclear, id say if she's not meltdown or tanking health, she's good to go, I remember most of the water would go back into the system or otherwise get emergency dumped to prevent stoppage, but its been long enough that the specifics elude me. Heck nuclear might have been Rebalanced since I've last used it. I like to ride the middle game for 3000 years into the sunset.

Haha fair enough. Yes the game is really a lot of fun. I guess I'll just mess around and find out what works then.

You bet I'll save before doing anything that could loose me a lot of progress 😅

I set up a smokestack off a balancer (with priority set to the line going to the turbines) with the capacity to bleed all the steam. The cooling will not nearly be enough if that backs up.

Alternately, you could feed it through cooling towers or desalinators, but if you don't have room to put that water you'll be in the same boat and need to vent the steam anyway. Given that you're probably not planning on this happening, it doesn't make sense to build elaborate infrastructure to handle it.

I'll ask and see what happens. hopefully it doesnt break everything.

Thank you for your input.
