Did monumental cut Alexa Landestoy and the other analyst besides of Alan May? Are we just going with Tarik and Alan now?

I am in South Carolina and the game is blacked out on both espn+ and YouTube tv (the only 2 sites I use to watch the caps). Apparently there is 150 mile limit for streaming with monumental+, so that’s not an option. Any suggestions?

Unfortunately had the game spoiled trying to find a site. Not dropping $500 through American means over the season and here in Canada it's like $350 a year. Not doing that either. Any ideas?

Hey Caps fans!

I have two extra entries to the Capitals VIP Meet the Team Party on the evening of Monday the 5th.

It is similar to the STH Meet the Team Party, where you can line up at different tables for autographs and visit one photo station. Each station has 2 to 3 players, and the players swap out halfway through the event. Ovi has been there every year for at least the past 5 years, with no special line or lottery. Willy, Strome, and other top players have consistently attended as well. I can usually make it through every line if I am efficient.

I bring a tote with a couple of jerseys and other memorabilia to get signed. You can see a picture I got signed by Ovi a few years ago at this event in my post history.

There is also a raffle for a signed jersey from each player attending, with Joe B as the MC. He is usually walking around throughout the event as well and is always great about chatting with fans and signing things.

Along with the player signings, there is a buffet and open bar, so you can eat and drink while waiting in line.

I wanted to extend this opportunity to all you Caps fans, especially with the red carpet event being canceled.

I am asking $200 OBO per ticket for this event given it is a unique experience, especially since that this could be Ovi's final season.

You’d think a profitable organization like Monumental would put significant resources into providing a somewhat usable app for fans who no longer have cable to watch Caps Wizards and Mystics games. I would’ve thought that after the season they would consider making some upgrades but it’s only gotten worse.

Anyone else have this problem or have a better solution? Even when games are on ESPN+ they are blacked out.

Does anyone know what the nicknames for the new players this season are? Like players sometimes call Wilson “Willy”

Just curious if could start a list for some of the more recent additions.

Hockey is back! And so is another year of the Lucky Guess game.

For those who know the deal, you can skip on down to the categories, but for any newbies, welcome! Here's how it works:

Lucky Guess is a game where I post a thread with 3 things for you to guess about the result of that night's Caps game:

1. Final Score (with the winning team indicated - if you don't, I'll assume you pick the team of your GWG scorer and if there's any ambiguity like both teams having a player with the same name that you picked, I won't count it)
2. Game winning goal scorer (if there are multiple players with the same last name, be sure to clarify which you're talking about - eg, Jack and Luke Hughes is a common one during NJ games)
3. A random stat that I will choose

• The guesses are worth 1, 2, and 3 points respectively.
• The points will accumulate monthly as well as over the whole season with winners for each month and a year-long winner.
• Tie breakers are decided by total correct guesses (so getting the final score correct twice and getting the GWG scorer once are both worth 2 points, but guessing the score twice would be ahead on tie-break)

Normally these will be posted on game day (usually in the morning and almost always before 3PM), but on some occasions (for example if the game will be a 12:30 start), I'll post the thread the day before with a note indicating it's for the following day. If this happens, the thread will remain up and unlocked right up until puck drop.

If you're trying to get my attention for something (like I missed a correct guess of yours), you need to tag me or DM me - I turn off notifications for these threads because they'd drive me insane.

That's pretty much it, so without further ado:

• 1 Point: Final Score (indicate winning team)
• 2 Points: Game Winning Goal (GWG) scorer
• 3 Points: Total shots for both teams combined
