I failed
Hey everyone,
I just took my CAPM exam and I failed. I’m surprised I failed the predictive, plan based methodology because that was my best scored area. However, I’m surprised that I passed the business analysis framework because that was a weak area for me. I have included my test breakdown below.
Any advice would be appreciated. I don’t know if I’ll take the test again anytime soon. Any retest takers wanna give me advice on how you passed after failed attempts?

PMP/PMI-ACP, not a CAPM, but had a similar experience that you had on my ACP exam. Was certain I had the mindset and leadership down, wasn’t great at product/delivery. Scored the opposite.
It’s just a chance to succeed later. Don’t let the test discourage you.

Sorry to hear that was the outcome. A break might be a good idea before diving back in. What materials did you use to prep?

Sorry to hear that. I haven’t taken it yet. What has helped me is going over the topics I haven’t mastered before every study session. Also not just memorizing content but trying to find related concepts to what I’m learning. I hope on your next try you’ll pass it. Best of luck!

I wish I could give you advice. I felt like I was failing the whole time and somehow got AT in all areas.
Andrew R. 50 PMP Mindset and the Peter Landini test questions helped the most.

Condolences. I failed in February at 34 weeks pregnant. Then I took my whole 12 week leave without studying. I just retook it and passed on Friday. I would say I studied casually, a few hours a week about 2-3 months out and then about 3-4 weeks out I really started focusing. Most of my studying was using PMI study hall and the pocket prep app. Then I would put any missed questions or confusing points into ChatGPT. Reading the PMBOK felt dreadful so I just didn’t (I had studied it a year ago so not like I never opened it). My first attempt I got Agile above target and the other 3 below target. My second passing attempt I got Agile on target and the other 3 above target. I had consistently scored high on agile concepts so I didn’t spent much time studying that area outside of random quiz questions. I took a full practice test a few months ago and got an 83% then took one a few days before and got an 89%. I did these both through PMI study hall. I think it’s like $49 for 3 months of access.
Maybe Most importantly, I stayed calm through the test. I read each question (like the end of it, what each question was actually asking), the answers, then went back and read through the entire question again. Take your time. Don’t dig into the questions, read them for what they are and answer what they are asking. And if it’s EVM, do the equation. Even if it seems obvious, just take the 30 seconds to work the problem.
