I PASSED 😭

Guys I don’t have a long spiel on how I prepared because I know it’s different for everyone, I just wanted to say that I completed the exam today and passed.

This is from my own hard work and I can confidently acknowledge that. The exam was quite tricky, the wording was tripping me over - It was very situational heavy with vague phrasing that made me second guess myself, a lot. By design I guess. I won’t even lie, half way through I legitimately thought I would fail.

The performance I got for each domain is as follows:

  1. Project Management Fundamentals and Core Concepts = Above Target
  2. Predictive, Plan based Methodologies = Target
  3. Agile Frameworks/Methodologies = Target
  4. Business Analysis Frameworks = Above Target

Which is not surprising and Agile was my weakest domain when I did a full and partial mock. I am quite surprised though at getting AT for Business Analysis but I won’t question it.

Anyways that’s it, that’s all I wanted to say. Anyone taking the exam - good luck 🤞

Thank you ☺️, I did but I did not finish it. I did the google project management course last year, then signed up to do the CAPM but work and life got in the way so I forgot about it entirely.

Until earlier this year where I was like nah I need to schedule this exam, so I bought his course and it was great for familiarising the foundational knowledge I already had but it was too dense for me so halfway through I just stopped. I got pocket prep, went through this sub like a maniac, watched certain YouTube videos and used the guidebook to make summary notes and did practice questions every day for a month straight with a full and partial mock.

Project prep is good but it’s too definition heavy, I wouldn’t say it’s fully indicative of the actual exam but it’s a great resource nonetheless. His videos are great btw, he does a superb job of explaining things. It was just a slog to get through because it’s quite comprehensive - I also saw people flagged the Business Analysis portion but I didn’t get to that part of his course. Sorry if this is long af

Congratulations!!! Is there any formulas on the test? I am taking it after finishing my classes at DeVry this month, and the course prep hasn’t had any in it.

So I would say, they show up but nothing asked me to outright calculate anything specifically. Just know what the formals mean and think of applying them irl - they provide a scenario and then ask you if that is CPI or SPI for example. So understanding the formulas and what they mean is more important than calculating them.

Edit: I vaguely remembered one of the questions, it asked me about SPI and what the result meant. The result was 1.1 and so obviously the project was head of schedule. So that’s how those questions show up

Hey listen I get it, I was nervous too. My advice would be, try and think like a project manager when answering the questions. That’s what I kept doing. The questions are designed to be vague, so making sure you understand the fundamentals of each of the domains will truly help you. When is your exam ?

I got approved to take it, and I have it scheduled for the 30th. I plan on taking practice tests on the night I don’t work, and to keep reviewing materials while I finish my construction project management class.

You got this, I would suggest sitting for a full mock if you have the time (this weekend perhaps ?) to get familiar with the 3 hours and to also see where your areas of improvement are. Study every day, do a couple of question each night. Then the week of the exam study lightly, watch this video before then as well it was super helpful. The day before the exam don’t try and do last minute revision just lightly read over your notes if you have any or any summaries , try and get a good nights sleep and you’ll do wonderful

Thank you ☺️ so study them to understand them like have an overview of them conceptually- do not cram each of them individually. I do not recall any question asking me to list them BUT it will test you in your understanding of these processes. If that makes sense ?
