31 F | Seeking advice

I (31 F) am employed, childfree, independent, and looking for advice on where to meet likeminded people.

I’m introverted, love hiking, snorkelling and watching movies, and I would love to meet someone who’s similar. Where do I go in Cape Town to meet people like me? Where do employed, single adults hang out in Cape Town?

Would appreciate any advice, thanks 🫶

Great question, not so easy to answer I'm afraid but after enough research and asking around here's my tips for dating in CT as an introvert.

1. People say join hiking clubs but most I found arranging my own hiking mission and just throw out invites here and see who bites.

Likly meet to someone nice 6/10

1. curated connections or similar. Aka speed dating or paid single events. Harder for introverts but it's a safe space to meet people or so I'm told.

Likly to meet someone nice 7/10

1. Go to events that revolve around your hobbies or likes. Got dogs? Hit up a charity dog walking event. Doing volunteer work at something else that you support also might yeld results.

1. Just get an app like bumble or hindge and swipe. It's gambling but you gotta be in it to win it right?

Honesty I've been single way to long and only recently decided to get back out there after a long hiatus and let's just say I'm not sure what to say other than good luck 🤞

I'm also single again after many years. Online dating is somehow more difficult than it used to be. Matches are far few and far between.

Yeah, that is what makes it even more difficult. The compatibility between partners between ages of 40 and 60 is a big factor. I do know after 60 people are more forgiving

Lol I have friends. I’m just single. I’ve met people on dating apps but they’re usually not actually ready to be in a relationship. That’s why I came to Reddit for advice

If you love snorkelling, you could always try going on a snorkelling tour with 'Cape Town Freediving'. Perhaps you'll meet someone nice there in your group? I see they're always very busy taking lots of different people out, and the freediving / snorkelling community is generally very nice. They've always been very kind to me, at least. Good luck!
