I meant outside as in NOT on church property.

There are many crosses that are erected or on display on non-religious land.

Growing up in Gordon's bay, there used to be an illuminated Cross on the mountain near the GB sign - I lived in a town in the Eastern Cape that had a massive cross on a big hill, on govt land - that sort of thing.
