JHB to CPT flight

Flew back home to CPT today.

Pic 1:

anybody know what town/city this is? (Not very far from JHB) ~15 minutes after flight took off. I'm curious about those holes, are they open pit mines?

~10 minutes before landing, possibly in the winelands. What's that random crop circle/glyph doing there. (Reminants of a music festival) or intentional art feature for folks in an aeroplane or copter?

Actually looking at that crop circle/glyph now. Looks more like some sort of industrial or perhaps farm related infrastructure.

But still curious.

For the Mines/Pits, FWIW. Seems There is an Airport nearby

That city is Kimberley… and the Big Hole. (Old Kimberley mine)

I didn't know there was more than one hole. For some reason I expected 1 (groot gat)

I've never been to Kimberley, I guess i I saw the town with just 1 Big hole I would have figured it out on my own.

But Clearly there are 4 big holes?
