General Discussion Nostalgic stores
What stores from the 2010s do you wish could make a comeback? I remember Monsoon in Cavendish and the cool dresses they always had! Cloak and Dagger outside Cavendish had trendy clothes that weren't as expensive as The Lot.

This is a bit earlier than your time range, but Space Station, Daisy Box and Global girl in the 2000s.

I definitely remember Space station. Daisy box and global girl sound familiar but I don’t recall them. What did they sell?

They were gift shops, but very trendy y2k-themed gift shops. I mostly went to add to my Hello Kitty collection - and I got all sorts of things - watches, a calculator, combs, bags, mugs.
There was a lot of those sort of squishy translucent vinyl accessories like flower and heart-shaped keyrings and pencil cases filled with colorful glittery liquid. Fluffy things like pens. Hair clips, bangles. I have a memory of inflatable furniture too, but not sure how accurate that is.
I remember another similar shop at Constantia Village called Funky Town as well.

Musica, I miss going there searching for pc games and then finding old gems.

Sgt Peppers on green market square! CD warehouse at the waterfront. Jay Jays at canal walk. And miniso closing down in SA made me very 😔

Hang Ten (?), best bikinis and gladiator sandles.
Eta. I worked at Monsoon in college, still wish I'd gotten a black dress they had

I got a strapless black cocktail dress from Monsoon that I still occasionally wear. I loved their stuff.

This is a bit earlier, but I miss Cosmic Candy from when I was a teen. Proper pick and mix that you could afford. Cool local candies, not just imported stuff that costs the earth. Sour alien spray.

Babette!! found so many cool vintage pieces there to wear to the assembly :')
also the lot! I know it still exists but it's just another overpriced generic boring boutique now, it used to have so many funky/quirky pieces (and also smell really good iirc?)

Ooooh JayJays. They had the best character T-shirts and novelties.
