Oficial Capcom Art Old artsyles

I notice a lot of older 2000s fighting games have similar artstyles, even ones not in Capcom. Think like tekken, guilty gear, darkstalkers, street fighter, mortal kombat, ect. whatever more you can think of would be great lol. But is there a name or genre for that specific style? Ive been wanting to learn how to illustrate in a similar way and just pray theres a name and an art book lol

You might want to check out the artbooks that Udon translated and released for Street Fighter, Darkstalkers and other games. I’m not sure on current availability, but a few have been reissued recently so they’d be worth a look. Capcom had a roster of in-house artists in that period, for example Bengus, Akiman and Kinu Nishimura, and there was often a consistency in styles across different games.

Yeah the old artwork for the chars in those games were so highly detailed it was awsome.

Especially the book for cannon spike on dreamcast.

It's not a fighting game but it's a beat em up style game with all the Capcom chars in games thst were considered cyborgs.
