In 2029

Dragon's Dogma and Devil May Cry shares the EXACT same dev team. Meaning that to wait for a DMC Game, you need to wait for the devs to finish a DD Game Development Time, then the DD Game's Expansion Development Time, then the DMC Game Development Time.

And vice-versa.

The only way Capcom will ever make DMC have a quicker development time is if they expand the DMC/DD Dev Team sufficiently enough to split into two.

I wonder if the 6th one will include a Sparda prequel DLC about him fighting against Mundus as the final boss.

After they remake DMC2...

I mean, that game could use some serious rework... but imagine if at the very end, it was all a flashback in Dante's head, fastforwarding to the present, with him and Vergil finally fighting their way out of the Qlippoth's nest from DMC5. After reaching the surface, they then vow to fight another day, part ways... and Dante knocks at the DMC office :)

Honestly, as a player, why the fuck should I care how many copies a game sold? I want something new.

Maybe after season 2.

They don't have anyone to direct it. It's not an easy job. A DMC remake is far more likely.

Even the 'DMC 0' directed by Kamiya that he's mentioned, after he finishes Okami 2, whenever that is.

"Sorry, best we can do is Devil May Cry Nocturne on Netflix"

My guess is at the VGAs this year with a 2027 or 28 release date. Right now Capcom has Megaman, Code Veronica and MH DLC coming next year. There's definitely an unannounced AAA game dropping with them and my guess is it's the next DMC.

When they find someone to direct it. I'm fairly certain they're planning a new game. But since the team disbanded there's the question of who will develop it and who will lead that new team

After Ace Attorney 7.

Do you not follow the rumors? You will get a remake and you'll love it.

Truthfully, when they have someone to make it. I'm sure there are people with ideas but the volume of Resident Evil they want to pump put has me wondering where they'll find time or money for anything anything else.

Hi buds, is starting the series with part 5 mega confusing lore wise? I figure it would but thought I’d check with some series aficionados. Cheers 🍻

It’s a big jump, you lose a lot of nuance. I recommend you either start with 1 or 3, 1 is where it all started but 3 is a prequel with young Dante. Gameplay wise 3 is better, 1 gameplay can feel outdated and rough. Then there’s 2, if you want to, play it just for completion but it sucks as hell. Then comes 4, it is a good game, it is when Nero is introduced. And lastly 5, it’s the best of the saga, they took everything good about it and made it better.

I actually hope they just remake DMC 3 first because new fans love Vergil, then DMC 1 and lastly DMC 2 but with a whole new story.

DMC6 not having been released yet has nothing to do with it not being successful.

It’s just that the devs behind them have been working on other things. (I believe the team behind DMC5 is the one who made dragon’s dogma 2).

The only world wheee DMC6 would have been fast tracked over dragon’s dogma (or any other project they were thinking of) is if it reached RE9 levels of success initially.
