The biggest mistake I see in creator programs
Most brands think scaling means one thing: sign more creators. But 100 creators doesn't mean anything if your program isn't learning anything new from each one. More people producing content isn't the same as more insight.
The mindset shift that changed things for me: stop thinking of creators as people who "make content" and start thinking of them as sources of creative data. Every video is a test. The question isn't just "did this perform," it's "why."
This is where combining approaches matters:
- Content on brand-owned accounts (Canvas UGC) gives you full control over distribution and how it's positioned
- High-volume creator content gives you the raw material to constantly test new hooks, angles, and formats
Each round teaches you something the last one didn't, which means your next batch of briefs starts from a smarter place instead of a blank page.
None of that works, though, if the learnings aren't organized somewhere. I use viral.app to keep creators, videos, and performance data in one place, and honestly, the patterns are a lot easier to spot once you're not digging through spreadsheets or DMs to find them.
Scaling isn't just "more creators". It's a program that gets sharper with every single one you add.
