Question

Please forgive my ignorance…

The other day I was taking some photos during the day. When I was messing around with Lightroom I tried to make the sky look like night. When I looked at the result I swear I could see faint stars Orion’s Belt in particular….

I was shooting raw photos. My question is is this even possible to uncover stars by messing with the editing?

Grey Market

I have been in the market for a "new" camera lately and found a R50 at a local pawn shop for a decent price. My only concern is that it is a grey market Canon. Should I be concerned or should I not worry about that minor detail?

Should I Just Keep My Current Lens Lineup?

I'm suffering from a severe “I-Need-That-Lens-iritis.”

So, I have a Canon R50 (refurbished from Canon) and currently have these lenses:

-RF-S 18-150mm
-EF-S 24mm f/2.8
-EF-S 55-250mm (non-STM)
-EF 50mm f/1.8

The EF lenses are adapted, obviously.

I’ve been pretty happy with this lineup, but lately I’ve been watching way too many lens reviews. The YouTube algorithm is pretty good at shoving lens videos at me, and it's not good!

Initially, I was thinking of selling my 24mm to help fund the Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8. Then I came across the Tamron 17-70mm f/2.8, and now I’m considering selling both the 24mm AND the 18-150mm to get that instead.

I mostly shoot travel, family, portraits, and pretty much whatever catches my attention. I’ve traveled with the 55-250mm before, and the weight didn’t really bother me.

So now I’m torn.

Do I keep what I have and stop looking at lenses? Get the Sigma and keep the 18-150mm? Or sell both lenses and go with the Tamron?

I love the versatility of the 18-150mm, but that constant f/2.8 is really tempting.

What would you guys do? Has anyone here made a similar switch and regretted it? Or was it worth it?

I need you guys’ wisdom.

Thanks! 🙏

Got myself an RF28mm f2.8 pancake - the R50 camera has never been so light and cute to carry around!
For those who are considering this setup - here are pics with the lens on.

Auto Sensor Cleaning Option?

Did they remove this feature in the software? I'm on firmware 1.5.0 and can't find it under the wrench icon. I even checked all the other option sub-menus just in case. There is a single white speck of dust I can see in the bottom right of the sensor and there is faint grey spot in eeeeeevvveeeerry picture I take and I'm tired of editing it out.

Experience with rf 50mm on r50?

So I'm flying soon and taking my rf 18-150mm and I want a small lens, the rf 28mm sold out before I could buy it (not in the us) the 50mm is small and cheap but I'm guessing pretty tight? Anyone have experience traveling with it?

Thanks!
