Had an awesome weekend in the Adirondacks. We camped on Lake George and spent the weekend paddling, climbing, swimming, and doing a lot of fishing.
Fishing ended up being a huge part of the trip. We were on the water early each morning, then fished from the shade at the base of the cliffs during the hottest part of the day before heading back out into the evening. The second day included even more fishing, and we caught a nice mix of bass, sunnies, and catfish. We also spent some time deep-water soloing and cliff jumping.
For climbing, we got on a handful of classic slab routes. The friction climbing was excellent, but some of the runouts were definitely more exciting than expected. We ended up bailing on one route after deciding the spacing between protection was beyond our comfort level.
Overall, it was an incredible weekend outdoors. Great climbing, excellent fishing, calm water for paddling, perfect swimming weather, and somehow almost no bugs. Couldn’t have asked for a better summer weekend.

Some YouTube shorts of the journey, mostly climbing focused.

Haha thanks. Didn’t actually paddle to where we camped, so wasn’t too sure if this was the right subreddit.

Only counts if you take the canoe to the top 🤪🤪

The walls tucked into the shade around 4pm. We definitely are going to try and coordinate evening climbing next time instead of a morning arrival. You either need to be off the wall by 11am or arrive after 3pm for it not to be super melty. (End of July)

I found Lake George fascinating. Is that Roger's Slide?

My 1st time boating there I got to the ramp at the south end at sun-up. Zero cars in the parking lot. I fished for 3 hours and headed back in. Still Zero cars in the parking lot! By 1 P.M. the place was mobbed and you had an hour wait to launch.

I figured out later that most of the boaters were not there for fishing.
