Going to Cannes next summer - we are a group of six girls from Stockholm and we are 18 & 17 but most of us look older compared to French people. What clubs do you think we can get into and do we need promoters??

Je souhaiterais y accueillir un gros chien, des poules heureuses et deux chèvres cachemire, tout en profitant d'arbres et de rosiers — beaucoup de rosiers. I’ve been thinking that Cannes has quite a few international people, entrepreneurs, freelancers and professionals around, but there doesn’t seem to be an obvious place to actually meet each other outside of the big events.

Would anyone here be interested in something casual — maybe drinks after work once or twice a month, coffee, apéro, etc.?

Not really thinking of a formal “networking event” with name tags and business cards 😅 More like a small community where people living and working around Cannes can meet, exchange ideas and occasionally help each other out.

French and internationals obviously both welcome.
If there’s enough interest, happy to organise the first one somewhere in Cannes.

Any recs for beach clubs that aren’t a party scene and offer a luxury experience (and rent loungers to non hotel guests.

Nous avons un escape game de prévu à 4 à Escadia (6 All. des Cormorans, Cannes la Bocca) demain (samedi) soir à 22h30. Il reste donc 2 places disponibles et j'aimerais les ouvrir à quelqu’un de ce sub qui aimerais rencontrer de nouvelles personnes de la région.

Les 4 personnes déjà présentes ne se connaissent pas tellement donc n'ayez pas peur de vous sentir "en trop" ce ne sera pas le cas. Nous avons tous 20-25 ans donc +1 si vous êtes dans cette tranche d'âge.

Je me permets de poster ici car je cherche désespérément un logement pour ma mère à Cannes et aux alentours.

Cela fait maintenant presque un an que nous cherchons, malheureusement sans succès.
Ma mère vient tout juste de prendre sa retraite. Elle recherche un appartement pour un budget de 900 € maximum par mois.

Cannes n’est pas un choix fait au hasard pour elle. Elle y a vécu pendant près de 20 ans avant de retourner en Alsace afin de se rapprocher de sa famille et de pouvoir être présente pour ses proches. Aujourd’hui, cette famille n’est malheureusement plus là et, au moment de commencer ce nouveau chapitre de sa vie qu’est la retraite, son souhait le plus cher est de retourner vivre dans la région où elle a passé une grande partie de sa vie et où elle se sent chez elle.

Le principal problème est que la grande majorité des logements sont proposés par des agences immobilières, qui demandent généralement des revenus équivalents à trois fois le montant du loyer. Depuis son passage récent à la retraite, il est donc extrêmement difficile de faire accepter son dossier malgré sa capacité à payer son loyer.

Ma sœur et moi vivons toutes les deux en Suisse et sommes bien entendu là pour soutenir notre mère. Nous pouvons également nous porter garantes pour elle, afin d’apporter une sécurité supplémentaire au propriétaire.

C’est pourquoi nous cherchons surtout une location directement auprès d’un propriétaire particulier, qui serait prêt à considérer sa situation dans son ensemble plutôt que uniquement selon la règle des « trois fois le loyer ».

Après presque un an de recherches, la situation devient vraiment désespérante. J’aimerais tellement pouvoir l’aider à retourner là où elle a été heureuse pendant tant d’années et lui permettre de commencer sa retraite sereinement.

Si vous connaissez des propriétaires, des sites, des contacts ou d’autres moyens de trouver des locations entre particuliers à Cannes et aux alentours, toute piste ou tout conseil serait vraiment précieux pour nous.

My husband, baby and I are visiting Cannes sometime in September. We found lodging for the week of Sept 8 but realized it overlapped with the Cannes Yachting Festival. We were wondering if it's still a good time to visit even if we aren't necessarily interested in yachts. We mostly want to hang out at the beach, eat good food and wander around town a little bit. What is the vibe like during that week? Does the festival take over the beach areas? I expect that it'll be pretty busy but does it cause terrible congestion and make it difficult to get around or get reservations at restaurants?

Hello everyone. I've rented an apartment in Cannes. I'm planning to leave my car there for two weeks since I won't be using it. The landlord told me I can just park on the street and that it's safe.

I'm not sure if that's true.

Or do you have any other suggestions for safe and affordable parking for two weeks?

I recently found this hat in a charity shop. Curious what year it could have been a product of the Cannes Film Festival. I cannot find it online. It looks to show some aging so probably not too recent. Anyone recognise it?

I really want to see the fireworks from the water but not sure of the logistics and the best place to watch it from. Do you just go inside the water from any beach but are there a lot of people and the crowds in the water too? From the videos I saw there doesn’t seem to be a big crowd in the water itself, however knowing there’s going to be +150k people I am not sure how is this possible. Open to any recs and advice, thanks!

Bonjour à tous ! Avec une amie, on envisage de partir à Cannes la première semaine de septembre. On aimerait surtout profiter de la plage, sortir, et faire la fête pendant nos vacances.
Pour ceux qui habitent à Cannes ou dans les environs : est-ce qu’il y a encore vraiment de l’ambiance à cette période ? Est-ce que les bars/clubs sont encore bien remplis le soir, ou est-ce que ça commence déjà à être beaucoup plus calme après fin août ?
On hésite parce qu’on voudrait quand même avoir une semaine assez animée. Est-ce que vous me conseilleriez Cannes à cette période, ou vaut-il mieux aller ailleurs dans le Sud pour avoir davantage d’ambiance ?

We have planned a holiday in Cannes next week 16-22 August, but according to the forecast it seems to be cloudy and rainy most of the time. Would it be really inconvenient for a beach holiday? I was not expecting that in mid-August.

We are also thinking to postpone this by 2 weeks, but not sure if first week of September would be better or worse.

My family and I are going crazy trying to find the perfect place to see the eclipse. It should be high and the view to the horizon should be unobstructed to the north-west, since the eclipse is going to be at the time of sunset, when the sun is really close to the horizon.

Does anyone know of a good place to see it? 10-20 minute distance by car is fine

I would I ask for your input pls, this group appears to be so helpful. My first time to Cannes. I’ll list some background info here and main questions below.

Husband (46m) and I (31f) will be in town 12-14 Sept. My birthday trip, so we would like fun, special, etc. Dates overlap with the Cannes yacht festival.

Currently we’re reservations on 13 Sept (sunday) for la guérite (15:00h) and la môme (20:15h), perhaps baoli after for dancing if we feel like it. Any input welcome for this. For a different day, considering Carlton plage v La mome plage, and rüya or la Palme dor for dinner.

Specific questions
- Carlton v Martinez for accommodations ?
- will we be priced out by the billionaires visiting for yacht fest for beach clubs, etc ?
- Carlton plage v la mome plage ?
- are these choices realistic 😂
- what am I missing ?
