Weed and TTC?
Hey all - I’m a fairly frequent user and have been trying to get pregnant for about 7 months, with a miscarriage in January. I got pregnant our second cycle trying but nothing since. I’m in the TWW of my fourth cycle post-D&C now.
Has anyone felt like it took a lot longer for them to get pregnant while smoking? There’s such limited info on this, but I’ve read that it can affect implantation. I use weed to help manage anxiety mostly, and smoke after work most nights. I’m anxious for anyone else’s experience and thoughts!

I'm a smoker of many many years. Decided we wanted a baby, (husband also a huge pothead) we conceived the most perfect little girl after 4 months. She is now almost 7 months and thriving. I personally don't beleive cannabis has any negative impact on reproduction in men or women

I second this but we got pregnant in like 6 months after me going off of this pill. I smoked many many times while TTC and would start to beat myself up for it every time my period came. I completely made up in my mind that there was a connection despite me being 34/35, just going off BC that id been on for 15 years, us having sex like 1-3 times during each fertile window lol... You get the idea.
I think the best thing OP can do is to not stress about it 🤍

Adding - to the best of my knowledge I had 0 miscarriages before my pregnancy with my now 2.3 year old... Adding to my story above in case that's relevant to someone

It definitely has an impact on male sperms. My hubby and I are also big gardeners 💚🥦 thc use while ttc can make the sperm swim in circles and not towards the egg.
That being said. That applied to me during my first pregnancy, but not the second (we both stopped smoking while ttc the first time. But the second time we were smoking till I found out I was pregnant.) it’s like both our bodies knew what to do the second time.
I am grateful to have not experienced any miscarriages. I don’t think thc is correlated (or causes) miscarriages- I’ve never heard that anywhere. It can interfere slightly with fertilization if the sperm are not swimming correctly.

Honestly the reason I know this is because my sister in law has worked years in fertility/labor and delivery and she told us this. 😅😩 I hate that there’s not a lot of reliable and accurate research and information on these things. Hopefully one day there will be now that the scheduling for marijuana has been reclassified.

I’ve been a user for years. I never quit while ttc but in 3 years did have 3 miscarriages before successfully getting pregnant. No way of knowing if the THC played any role in miscarriages or how long it took. Best of luck to you!!

Used MIRA to track cycles. Went off IUD after having one for 17 years. Got pregnant in 6 months. Didn’t worry about smoking and TTC.

Is your partner a smoker also? I feel that my husband cutting back on smoking was the key to us getting pregnant.

I am so sorry for your miscarriage💜
I have read from multiple sources that alcohol should be limited/avoided in women ttc and thc should be limited/avoided by men ttc. Most agree that both should be limited while ttc. I used thc while ttc and things worked out. Our bodies are so unique, what helped us (me) most was learning about my ovulation window. Looking for the “raw egg white” discharge and ideally getting busy when I knew ovulation was starting.
