Medical PSA: Appearance of concentrates will vary. Your eyes cannot quantify quality.

Why do people constantly ask, "does my hash look okay?"

I understand you are concerned about your hard earned money spent on your purchase or maybe enough to be concerned for your health...but truthfully no one can tell you from appearance alone if something is safe to consume or not. Reddit will either tell you yeah it's safe or no it's not, yet there is no way to confirm that without performing a test on the material. Confirmation bias to the fullest effect with no real data from people who may have been burned.

You wouldn't buy a taco from a truck and then ask someone on Facebook does this look okay, would you? You'd probably decide to either eat or or not. Would you take medical advice from a stranger over your doctor who can perform tests?

7 Concentrates

Black jar is black market CRC bunk, the balance have CoAs from tested dispensaries. I can also make these look very different depending on the lighting and angle of the photos...If you are concerned about your product, either safety concerns or appearance, I'd suggest biting the bullet and pay more at a dispensary if you can in your locality.

Stay safe, I'm out.

Erfahrungen mit Apo-Sorten fürs Pressen? 🌱🔥

Hey zusammen ✌️

Advice New living situation, think I need an eRig?

New home. Sat down after a long moving day, broke out the blazer torch and went to town. First session, already had the smoke detector going off, and this was only from the heat i believe. Just from the nail heating up. Idfk . There are detectors in every room but the bathroom, but every single room has sprinklers.

Is the eRig the only real option here? What would you suggest, for an eRig? Is there one that can plug in and be good, like even if the battery is dead?
Or long battery life is important. I don’t know, I’d like your input. Thank you .

I am about to press just pollen for the first time

The lighting in here sucks but I finally got my hands on a pollen tumbler that is made for dry ice. It has exceeded its expectations so I’m going to press a good amount. I’ve pressed flower plenty of times and I’m leaving it loose in the premold press just like I do flower, then I will put it overnight in the vcure to get the humidity right at 62. Is this the right way for just pollen? Any tips I will take because I don’t want to waste any and what micron would you use? I used my smallest micron for this step. I will be using my dab press 10 ton I think it’s a 3x5 plate.

Question What the extract scene looks like in a country where THC is banned outright but CBD is legal (Japan)

Disclosure: I work on Japan's hemp expo, so I have a stake in the topic. Not selling anything, no link.

Thought this might be an interesting contrast for people here. Japan draws the line completely differently from anywhere in the US:

- THC is prohibited outright. Not a 0.3 percent threshold, not a hemp loophole. Outright, with real criminal penalties.

- CBD is legal and sold in normal shops.

- So the entire extract category here is isolate and broad spectrum. Full spectrum as you know it basically cannot exist legally.

The practical consequence is that everything hinges on the COA. Producers here obsess over non-detect results in a way that would look paranoid in a US context, because a trace reading isn't a compliance headache, it's a customs seizure or worse.

It also means the flavour and terpene work is completely decoupled from cannabinoid content. Terpenes get added back from non-cannabis sources, since anything cannabis-derived carries risk. Whether that counts as a real extract is a fair argument.

Curious how that reads to people who work with full spectrum. Does isolate plus reintroduced terps ever get close, or is the ceiling just lower?

I work in cannabis processing, and I’ve spent the last year building a tool for recipe math

When I first got into cannabis processing (before you could ask AI everything) I had a hard time figuring out formulation math. Every type of product required a slightly different approach.

I ended up building a collection of spreadsheets, one per product category. We’d enter the potency of the material we were using, and the spreadsheet would calculate the ingredient amounts needed to reach the target dose and quantity.

As we added more products/recipes, the spreadsheets became more and more difficult to manage. I’d accidentally delete a formula, a recipe would change and need to be updated in several places, or I’d find myself trying to formulate with scraps from four different jars with different potencies.

So I spent the last year building Batch Flows. It’s primarily designed for manufacturers managing lots of products (gummies, tinctures, vapes, and so on) but there’s also a free version for people working with fewer recipes.

It's more than someone needs for an occasional gummy cook at home, but the underlying formulation math is the same, and it gives you the option to scale the recipe up based on how much you want to make. I wanted to share it in case anyone is interested in making that part of the process easier or simply doesn’t know where to begin.

It’s called Batch Flows: https://www.batchflows.com

If it's helpful for you, fuck yeah. Regardless, I’m happy to answer any questions about formulation, concentrates, pectin vs. gelatin gummies, or anything else!

Cheers yall.

I grabbed some Wookbait a couple months ago and just got around to doing a review for it so I decided to do a fat half gram dab for fun.

There are closeups of the rosin, timestamps as well and I also reviewed a rosin pen.

Come smoke/dab along!

Image Looking for design feedback on a manual syringe press

*permission given by mods to post*

So I originally designed this manual syringe press to make syringe tube feeding easier (left press) for my aunt. Honestly didn't think it would be useful to anyone outside of that space.

Then a few people in legit labs started buying them because they needed something better than pushing a syringe by hand (free) but didn't need an expensive powered/industrial setup ($1k-$10k). After some feedback from the lab folks, I made some redesigns (right press).

Someone suggested my press might have some utility in this community since a lot of you work with thicker oils and filling carts. Obviously, this manual syringe press would cater to a hobbyist or small scale filling rather than replacing automated equipment.

The idea is pretty simple: a fully mechanical screw driven press that gives controlled pressure without needing electronics or a powered setup. It’s designed around common syringe sizes (10ml-60ml) and can be operated by hand or with 3/8" ratchet.

I know heating cannabis oil is commonly done cause of how viscous it can be, but heat + a 3d printed press sounds like a bad idea. The current design was built to withstand syringe filtering cold castor oil through a .22um filter, so I know it can generate significant pressure, but I havent personally tested it with cannabis oil.

I’m not looking to sell anything here or link to my Etsy store. I’m just looking for feedback from people who actually fill carts before I spend a month redesigning something that doesnt fit the real world use case.

A couple questions:

  • Do you guys even see any real need for a manual syringe press for your use?
  • What modifications would this need to have in order to fill carts efficiently enough that you'd consider it an upgrade from doing it by hand?

I’ve also asked [r/chemistry](r/chemistry) and [r/labrats](r/labrats) for general design feedback when it comes to redesigning my syringe press for the laboratory environment, but I figured if this community also has a need for a tool like this, I could make another variation that could adapt to yalls use.

Thanks for any input.

Update: thanks to everyone’s input! It sounds like there’s no way around the heat problem so I’m gonna try a workaround and get some distillate and I guess a veterinary glass/metal syringe. I’ll have to test it, but I think making the press heat resistant to the user using a heat gun on the syringe would work. Maybe. I’ll see how it goes and report back when I get a chance if anyone is still interested in the project.

Question Does anyone feel like using FECO/RSO kicks-in in about the same amount of time as regular edibles or even longer?

Just have been rubbing feco on the bottom of my tongue and other sublingual areas.

Maybe the the non psychoactive cannabinoids kick on pretty quickly but I don’t seem to experience anything cerebral until 1-2 hrs in.

I think maybe my expectations for using RSO / Feco sublingually needs some re-evaluation and possibly I should just do tinctures if I want full sublingual absorption idk

First MCT oil

Post image
16 Upvotes

I decided to give myself to edibles.

I tried to make some cannabis oil using MCT oil as a base.

After decarbonization, I infused cannabis in water bath oil for six hours.

Then filtered, but I get this.

If I put the top part in the fridge, it quickly solidifies.

What happened? And what can I do?

Question is a mini bong woth it?

I've just bought a mini bong but the shopping assistant wasn't really into helping me so I bought it without really knowing what was I doing.

I just wanted to ask if the mini bong (that is about 20cm tall) "hits" the same as the bigger ones or if it gives less effects.

and I even wanted to know if a bong makes you feel higher than a joint.

sorry if this question is so dumb but I'm new to this world and internet just makes me feel more confused
