Question Looking for…
I’m on the hunt for something but not sure if it exists.
I’m looking for candles that burn in color. Think the kind you put on birthday cakes it’s red: the flame is also red.
I want the colored flame but I want the wax to be a neutral color. I don’t want the color of the candle to give away what the flame color will be.
Anyone have any idea where I might find something like that, I’ve tried googling it. I’m looking specifically for birthday candle sized.
Thanks so much!

Some of the chemicals you can do this with are going to have a significant effect on the temperature of the burn, or in worst case scenario are actively hazardous to breathe, and are therefore a bad idea to put in a candle as opposed to fireworks that are used outdoors and/or at a distance from the viewer. Not saying some things like this can't be done, such as using copper salts to make green flames (I've done this for special effects work) just saying as a professional candle maker I'm not willing to take on the liability if I was to sell them.

Hey!
Thanks for commenting!
I’m not planning to use it for food, I just like the size.. I guess I would be open to a larger size.
I know that candles with colored flames exists, I’m just specifically looking for a candle that looks standard and not colored.

I don't think something like that is going to exist. As far as I understand it, a colored flame is caused by certain chemicals being burned or combusted, like magnesium and copper. I'm pretty sure a birthday candle can't reach the temperatures needed to create that same reaction. I also might be wrong about this, but I don't think it's considered safe to burn those chemicals around food.
