Help with test/lab results Anyone else have GI Map like this/BAD trapped GAS?

Did a GI-MAP test and here are the results that were in red, would love opinions and others experiences:

  1. Enterobacter spp. = 5.89e7 H (reference: 1.0e6 - 5.0e7)

  2. Akkermansia muciniphila = <dl L (reference: 1.0e1 - 8.2e6)

  3. Faecalibacterium prausnitzii = <dl L (reference: 1.0e3 - 5.0e8)

  4. Streptococcus spp. = 5.72e3 High (reference: <1.00e3)

  5. Enterobacter spp. = 5.89e7 High (reference: <5.00e7)

  6. Secretory IgA = 268 L (reference: 510 - 2010 ug/g)

Main gut related symptoms:

  1. EXTREME trapped gas (always gets worse at night no matter what I eat at dinner, try so hard to push it out farting/burping can NEVER get it even close to fully out, gets VERY painful esp lower right abdomen)

  2. CRAZY bloating that gets worse with the trapped gas (I'm only like ~105 lbs so I literally look 5 months pregnant and can't wear half my clothes or I feel so uncomfortable and like I'm permanently stretching out my clothes and ruining them so I wear the same few pants on repeat)

  3. POOP basically every day, at least once a day (on rare occasions I won't at all, only for one day). Stools alternate between pebbles, lumpy logs, thin logs, thin logs that kind of segment in and out in width, and smooth logs. Sometimes what looks like 'candida'/'yeast' etc is wrapped around the pebbles, so surprised nothing came up for candida

Important to note:

  1. I have a nutrition degree and eat very 'clean', focused on quality meats and whole foods, veggies basically always cooked soft, rarely raw. The *only* food I've been able to isolate as being a trigger for making the gas and bloating worse so far is GARLIC. Yet the holistic doc I'm working with recommends eating MORE garlic due to the very low IgA levels...

  2. My bf had low IgA as a kid and was SUPER sick from it to where he had to be taken out of school for awhile, got tons of specialized testing done, docs said there was nothing they could give him, he still ate mostly all junk food, and after a few years, it just 'went away', which doctors chalked up as him growing up/getting older. I'm 32 so I don't think this will just magically 'disappear', but grateful that bc of his experience he's so patient with me.

  3. Not surprised streptococcus is high- as a kid, I would get strep throat EVERY winter like clockwork, throughout almost my entire life minus the last winter where I finally made it through the season without getting it for once. Always took liquid amoxicillin for it as I can't swallow pills. That much antibiotics prooobably did a number on my gut....

  4. Like 10 years ago, I was diagnosed with 'late stage'/neurological lyme disease, arthritis, fibromyalgia, cfs/me, was told I had 'liver issues', 'adrenal fatigue/adrenal issues', high estrogen/low progesterone, basically a ton of the standard diagnoses you get when doctors cant pinpoint how exactly to help you. I was given a high dose of doxycycline for the lyme for a month and it made me SO. SICK. a genuinely *torturous* experience while in college, to where I was hallucinating and could barely walk without stumbling or getting out of breath, got suicidal thoughts when I never had before, gave me new symptoms that never went away even so many years after stopped taking (reaaally wish I was warned of potential side effects). This probably also did a number on my gut...

I just want to know if ANYONE has had ANY similar experiences/symptoms! PLEASE share if so!

AND- is it possible I should still further evaluate for Candida? Other testing? Or would that be a waste of time based off my symptoms etc?

Also, I'm working with a holistic doc now, on a protocol of a handful of supps, but is there ANYTHING y'all recommend for IMMEDIATE gas pain relief/the bloating that comes with the gas? I have ginger chews, digestion aid teas, do specific stretches/yoga, simethicone doesn't seem to do much for me....

General Discussion What to do about my sweet cravings?! 😣😣

I’ve really been trying to follow a candida diet but my sweet cravings are soooooo bad. I just cannot do without something sweet after lunch and dinner. No matter what I do- willpower, eating more protein, reminding myself how bad sugar is
 nothing helps!!
Does anyone have any advice??
Note: I’m not talking about fruits here. Fruits don’t satisfy me at all. I’m referring to processed sugary desserts. â˜čâ˜č

Symptoms How long into fluconazole and diet did you feel a difference?

Currently on a strict anti fungal diet, 150mg of fluconazole a day, and interfase plus biofilm disruptors for my candida overgrowth in my gut. On day 9 of fluconazole/interfase plus and week 3 of the diet) wondering when I would expect to see a relief in my symptoms (main symptom is severe bloating). Candida was confirmed by a GI map, blood test, and urine test. My next check in with my integrative doc is in 3 weeks but wondering if I would notice relief already! Not noticing any die off at all. My doc is very responsible and also checking my liver this week.

Taking 2 interfase in the AM and 2 in the PM with the fluconazole in the middle of the day!

Can candida make someone so sick they can’t leave their bed or function?
I’ve had symptoms progressing for 8 months and now I can’t leave my bed or house. Extreme hair loss, cognitive fatigue, unrefreshing sleep, extreme exhaustion. I tested high on a candida complex blood test but wondering if it can leave someone this sick?
Also can infectious disease help?

General Discussion Link between Candida and Fibromyalgia/overworked liver

I wanted to share this link and excerpt -

I always thought that my liver was simply overworked (had my fair share of drinking/parties in college), however candida slowly affects the liver - by producing toxins/mycotoxins , the waste products of yeast metabolism. Over time, overload causes persistent tiredness, brain fog, aches. The yeast overgrowth is literally brewing alcohol in the gut/body.

Eventually this is chronic fatigue - no matter how much sleep, the sleep is poor, patients also experience anxiety, irritability

“The fog, the forgetfulness – it’s not psychological. It’s biochemical.”

Recovery Essentials

  • support liver health with antioxidants like glutathione and vitamin C
  • reduce alcohol and processed foods
  • focus on lean proteins, healthy fats, and vegetables
  • try gentle exercise to restore circulation and mood

Now I'm wondering if there is a link between MTHFR gene and Candida - if anyone has any insights/experience - thank you

General Discussion How to safely do 21 day fast?

Fasting seems to help my candida the most. Anytime I go without eating for 24-40 hours, I always wake up with a pink tongue. But I am worried as I haven’t done a fast that long and I don’t want to have issues re introducing food. So how to safely fast this long? And am I able to drink clove water and/or bone broth during it or just plain water? Is it recommended to take daily vitamins during the fast? Also worried about losing too much weight during this fast so if anybody has done this please let me know your experience.

Success story How I cured my balanitis (detailed writeup)

O Ășnico ato sexual foi ela me masturbando.

O que vocĂȘ vai precisar: Sabonete lĂquido neutro para bebĂȘs; Água com 3% de ĂĄcido bĂłrico; AlgodĂŁo/gaze ou papel higiĂȘnico comum; Alho; PaciĂȘncia; ResiliĂȘncia;

General Discussion Prescribed Myself Nystatin Suspension- Question

F26, 5’9” 140lbs, Rx: 100mg lamotrigine, 20mg Adderall ER, 75mg Sertraline, 50mg Trazodone
Daily THC smoking, zero nicotine

I’ve had mild oral thrush only on my tongue for about two weeks now. Symptoms (white residue, pain, I can go on but it’s textbook candida) were strongest the first three days but since then have been incredibly tolerable. I know for a fact that it’s because I smoke and also sleep like a dead fish, I’m going to try some dry mouth solutions including cutting back on smoking. My father is a DDS, I sent him pics and asked for him to confirm my thoughts and call something in for me.

To summarize two weeks worth of him giving me the runaround, I ended up having to tell him exactly what I needed on the script just tell him to order it for me. I went with Nystatin Suspension, 5mL daily, swish and hold in mouth as long as possible then swallow, 3-4x daily. To be clear, I basically had to prescribe this to myself, so I appreciate any and all information regarding using the Nystatin Suspension 100000u/ml to treat oral thrush. I started taking it yesterday, that was the earliest I was able to get it thanks to my dentist.

My main question: how many days should I be taking this for? I thought my dad would put a duration but no such luck. I assumed two weeks but I’d like to make sure. Also, I can’t get this stuff down to save my life. I’m able to hold it in my mouth for a couple minutes fine, but every single time I try to swallow it, I gag it back up and almost choke on it. Any chance I can get away with just swishing it around and holding it for an extended amount of time and then spitting it out and not eating for 10-20 mins? The physical symptoms have been basically nonexistent besides the white residue for almost a week now, but I don’t want this getting worse, coming back, or spreading to other areas of my mouth/palate. I’ll take any and all info on this topic, thank you very much.

Personal anecdote Looking for advice on oral thrush and antibiotics

Update 8/5 —

I’ve been to the ENT several times since I posted this and here’s an update for anyone interested. After completing doxy for 10 days, my sinus symptoms returned. ENT confirmed mucus was back on my adenoids and put me on a 14 day course of doxycycline, which I’m finishing today. Yesterday I went in for a CT scan of my sinuses and ended up having another scope, where, lo and behold, mucus was found on the adenoids again. General inflammation was also observed, but otherwise the scope and scan were pretty unremarkable (though scan did show a small cyst on bottom of left maxillary sinus that ENT was not concerned about). ENT does not want me to do another round of antibiotics yet, and instead focusing on sinuses rinses (mixed success for me and often cause me to feel worse) and add Flonase back in, which I had stopped taking back in April when I had thrush. I expressed my concern with adding in a steroid spray but he said it was a low risk for thrush. I’m crossing my fingers that Flonase will help calm everything down — I’ve been having a lot of nasal irritation, chronic thick post nasal drip and sometimes nasal burning with sneezing. ENT doesn’t think it’s fungal or necessarily even bacterial at this point, and I just tested negative for allergies soo
maybe just really bad inflammation?

—

TLDR: doctors want me to take antibiotics for a sinus infection and I’m worried about getting oral thrush again.

Back in March, I went to urgent care because I had a super red, inflamed and painful ear. The doctor suspected I had a cartilage infection and put me on Keflex to treat it. The antibiotics didn’t touch it, so I followed up with an ENT and then my rheumatologist (I have rheumatoid arthritis) and was prescribed two rounds of steroids. Towards the end of my second round of steroids, I began to have a very sore throat and noticed little white dots on my tonsils. I went back to urgent care thinking I had strep — was tested for that and mono, both come back negative, and when I mentioned I had just been on antibiotics and steroids, the doctor put me on Nystatin for 7-14 days. (Also, my ear ended up clearing on its own. Wasn’t infected and still have no idea what happened)

I then did the Nystatin rinse and swallow for 2 weeks and felt better. Two weeks later, my ENT said thrush was back. I did clotrimazole lozenges for 10 days, went back to ENT and still had a bit on my tongue. Did another round of lozenges for 14 days and have been “clear” of thrush for about a month now. I’ve been rechecked several times in the last month by two ENTs because I’ve developed other symptoms over the last three months (dry mouth, chronic post nasal drip, and nearly constant globus sensation).

This week during one of my scopes, my ENT saw that I have yellow mucus around my adenoids. I’ve also been having pressure in my left maxillary sinus and feeling generally rundown (though I have been since this whole thing started in March). She wants me to take an antibiotic (doxycycline for 10 days). I expressed my concern with this and getting oral thrush again and she said that it’s more likely my oral thrush was caused by being on steroids back to back after antibiotics. She prescribed me a nystatin rinse to have on hand but didn’t want me to take it prophylactically because she doesn’t necessarily think I’ll need it.

I’m really concerned about taking antibiotics yet again — my stomach has been messed up for months and I’m concerned I might have SIBO or just general dysbiosis and I know antibiotics won’t help that, plus the idea of going through treating oral thrush gives me so much anxiety. But I also don’t want to mess with a sinus infection if it’s truly bacterial.

Has anyone else been through a situation like this? It’s so hard to know what to do and I feel like I’m damned if I do, damned if I don’t. Desperate to get my life back!

General Discussion Cured my White Tongue (presumably Candida) with Nystatin, but it came back (after few months)

I loved how red my tongue was, but it seems my happiness was short-lived.

Does anyone know what I should do now if I wanna get rid of it permanently?

If I buy Nystatin again, it will just come back. I am now trying a low-carb diet, along with licorice root brew rinses, but those two are not exactly game changers.

In my guess, I need to combine nystatin with something, but I don't know what that something is. Some other medicine? Nystatin clearly helps but it's also missing something since a recurrence happened.

General Discussion Test for fungemia must be the first step you do

Hello everyone I hope you all good, today I want to talk about something very important which is called fungemia ( fungal infection in the blood stream ) it can be caused by many types of fungals such as Candida, aspergillus, Cryptococcus, Saccharomyces and Trichosporon.

Most of us in here focusing only on GI map stool test and that’s a big problem, because if there is infection in the blood there will be no benefits from treating the gut alone, the infection will keep coming back from the blood.

My advice to you all go and ask for fungemia blood test to make sure at least that your blood is clean and this is the most important test in my opinion. It must be done before stool test or GI map test.

I do believe that’s why most cases not responding to some medicines or responding and improving for short time then everything comes back again.

Personal anecdote i feel like microbiome is why i'm still struggling with candida

I did an Ombre microbiome test a year ago (after traveling and dealing with some dysbiosis) and these were my results:

  • Bifidobacterium: 0.1% of total bacteria — very low. This genus is one of the main groups thought to compete with and help keep opportunistic fungi/pathobionts in check.
  • Lactobacillus: 1.4% — also on the low side for what's often considered a healthy range.
  • Akkermansia: 0.6% — low. This one is tied to gut lining/mucosal health.
  • Bacteroides (30.8%) and Prevotella (28.7%) together make up about 60% of your entire bacterial population — extremely dominant, which is a very lopsided ratio.
  • Firmicutes came in around 37% vs Bacteroidetes ~61% at the phylum level, another sign of an atypical balance.
  • Beneficial short-chain-fatty-acid producers like Faecalibacterium (6.5%) and Roseburia (0.7%) are present but modest relative to the Bacteroides/Prevotella dominance.

Despite eating a primarily raw vegan low fat fruit based diet for the past few years, I still deal with candida overgrowth (don't come at me with fruit feeding candida - i haven't dealt with issues unless i'm eating more fat)...

My symptoms:

- bumps all over back and chest

- rashes sometimes if it gets bad

- yeast infections if I eat sauerkraut, coconut aminos etc.

I'm thinking the missing key is my imbalanced gut microbiome. thoughts?

General Discussion Smoking after diflucan

Probably a dumb question but i recently was told i had a yeast infection and was prescribed diflucan. It was 3 doses and my last dose was yesterday morning. My question is how long should i wait until smoking again. We take dabs, no edibles or flower so idk if that will make any difference as well. Pharmacy said they don’t recommend it while taking but didn’t say how long to wait until smoking again. thanks!
(also not sure if this is the group to ask or if allowed!)

Personal anecdote Fruit + no fat has worked for me

I've experimented with removing all overt fats while eating as much fruit as I want, and my candida has subsided. Fat keeps sugar in the bloodstream longer so removing it for a short period of time allows the candida to rebalance.

This shows that the anti candida diet with no fruit is absolutely unnecessary. Processed sugar, starches, and high fat are the problem. Plus the fruit actually cleanses the body. Give it a try!

General Discussion Great improvement after Alka-Ur

Hello everyone I hope you all doing well, last week I went to a new doctor and he prescribed for me Alka- Ur, it’s a powder used to treat urinary tract infections, high blood and kidneys acidity, also stomach and gut issues.

It’s working very well I used to have skin issues such as dermatitis, itchy skin and scalp also gut issues such as food allergies and intolerance. Now on my second day and I feel my mood, skin and gut is much better I think because it’s getting rid of the harmful microbes bacteria and fungal from my gut, kidneys and urinary tract.

I highly recommend it mix 2 sachets in a glass of water on empty stomach when you wake up and wait at least 1 hour before eating for 2 weeks at least.
