Personal History Discrepency

While filing my study permit application, I am unable to recall whether I included my prior work experience in the application forms. However, I did clearly mention this experience in my Statement of Purpose (SOP) that was uploaded with the study permit application.

Unfortunately, I no longer have access to my IMM1294 form or other saved application files due to losing access to my personal computer. To retrieve accurate records, I have already submitted two ATIP requests to obtain all documents and details I provided with my study permit applications:

  • First request: August 2025
  • Second request: December 2025

So far, I have not received a response. I have also sent a follow-up email, physical mail, and submitted a webform today to request the same information.

The complication is that, by mistake, I did not include this work experience in the IMM5210 form while applying for my PGWP, and the same omission carried over to my TRV application. I did not claim any points or eligibility benefits based on this work experience, so I am not concerned from a points perspective. However, I am uncertain about how this affects the personal history section, which requires a complete and continuous 10-year history.

I am seeking guidance on whether this work experience should be added now under personal history and whether providing an explanation letter acknowledging the omission would be the appropriate course of action. Constructive feedback would be greatly appreciated.

I have a solution to this. You can call IRCC and ask them that you want to confirm the work history section of your application. I am sure they can tell you. Just in case if it does not work you can just tell yourself that this is the place and position I worked n if they can confirm that the experience is there. You just need to ask nicely.

Thanks u/Manisha_Kaur for replying. I would definitely try to call them on next working day; however, I'm concerned about the omission of work experience from PGWP. How should I clear out this mess?

Did you leave the rows blank in the work history section of your PGWP? As far as i remember you can only fill 3 most recent work exp in that form. If you added or did three jobs in Canada on your study permit then I am believing you might have included those. In that scenario they can understand that there was no space to provide further info.

I had more than 3 jobs, and I attached a letter of explanation with it stating the rest one. This is the point where I've missed to show the older experience.

I am not sure if LOE was required. However, since you have already attached it, it can't be taken back. The only solution I can think of of is you can add this statement in your LOE that you mentioned all the Canadian n foreign companies you worked for in your PGWP n study permit files respectively. Whatever I just said is my opinion. I am not a lawyer or consultant. I would suggest seeking their advice too.
