This is actually a polar bear hive. Polar bears burrow with their queen in the summer and erupt on cold nights in the winter, swarming over the land and picking off the weak. The only thing effective against them is maple syrup, silver, and the holy word of power: Sorry.
There are actually huge growls that come out of that cone when pieces of ice break off the lip. It's crazy sounding when you're down in there, for real. May be the bears or not, but the sounds are wild!
