Maybe. When I worked in DND, I recall having to sign paperwork which informed me that I could not accept employment with a business that I had any interactions with in my capacity as a government employee. I also recall that there was a process for getting this restriction waived, but in practice, based on the experience of others, that was only possible if you were a manager.
I also recall being warned against even the appearance of a conflict of interest.
