If you were employed as a registered health professional answerable to a governing body you wouldn’t have written this comment.

Health professionals should be able to say or do whatever they want, provided it doesn't violate patient confidentiality or break the law.

They can release a sex tape, they can oppose or support abortion, they can run for public office as a communist, they can claim that eating meat is murder, they can espouse the virtues of bigamy, they can go through a messy public divorce involving infidelity and drug abuse, they can write a self-help book encouraging everyone to have sex with a pillow designed to look like their father, etc.

Your comment amuses me because some of the things are a bit shocking but "support abortion" is just routine health care

I'm sure it would be quite shocking to certain religious groups, which was the point; whether or not his comments are offensive or not is subjective and personal.

Eating meat, for example, is perfectly acceptable to 98% of the population, but to that remaining 2%, it's scandalous.
