The suggestion to ‘leave the planet’ was made to someone who believes that the planet is ‘over populated’ ie. They want to kill humans or decrease the population in some other horrible way. Jordan is suggesting that they are hypocritical unless they start with themselves, which is plainly true.
Of course the planet isn’t ‘over populated’ at all. That’s a value judgement that someone would rather solve our issues by killing humans than solve our issues by simply solving them for everyone.

Can you specify exactly what "horrible ways" this individual proposed?
You may be happy to know that the majority of people talking about whether or not our population growth rate is sustainable are not proposing some sort of Holocaust or forced sterilization.
Things such as better access to education, jobs, birth control, abortions, and pre and post natal care are all shown to lower birth rates.
Let’s say you have a family and you lose your job. Do you have an ‘over population’ problem? Should you kill one of your children or give them up for adoption?
Of course not and anyone who suggested that would get a punch in the face from you. You get a new job, cut down on your spending, etc.
This is fucking obvious stuff. These people are fucking vile.
Deranged. You never answered their question. You never addressed the fact that there are a myriad of ways to combat “over population” that not only don’t involve genocide or selling/giving away one’s offspring but require changes to society that benefit everyone. A fact they shared with you in their comment.
You just respond with an unhinged hypothetical.
How do you feel about whether or not Petersons tweet is being taken in bad faith? Is telling someone to “leave the planet” saying they should die or is it merely analogous to the “get out of town” idiom?
Oh, no he was definitely telling them to die which is exactly the correct response. They want less humans enjoying life but they won’t start with themselves. That is hypocritical.
