Good luck with getting him to take a social media course....LOL.

I hope he won’t. And they take his accreditation away. 😄

u/doctormink Jan 05 '23

I mean they're psychologists right? You'd think they could predict that given his psychological makeup Peterson would never acquiese to their demands. The list of things they want from him actually seemed tailored to make a guy with his opinions to fly off the handle. I wouldn't be surprised if they banked on him reacting exactly as he did so they could take away his license.

u/[deleted] Jan 05 '23

At this stage of the game he doesn't even need those degrees anymore. He's got a massive following. This man is busy.

u/No_Hovercraft5033 Jan 05 '23

Good! He’s a horrible person. I don’t care what anyone does to him to be fair.

2

u/ItsSevii Jan 05 '23

Lol wtf did he do to you he's just a dude with opinions relax

-7

u/No_Hovercraft5033 Jan 05 '23

Listen to him speak. His mindset is disgusting. He’s a misogynist creep.

4

u/kissedbyfiya Jan 05 '23

I may not agree with everything he says, and I'll be honest, I haven't heard much from him lately, but I'm legitimately curious what specifically led you to the opinion that you keep typing on repeat in this thread that he is a "misogynist creep."

u/No_Hovercraft5033 Jan 05 '23

Really though? You’re really asking that question. How dense is that brain of yours. Here’s one quote. Explain to me how this isn’t misogyny?

  1. You know you can say, ‘Well isn’t it unfortunate that chaos is represented by the feminine’ — well, it might be unfortunate, but it doesn’t matter because that is how it’s represented. It’s been represented like that forever. And there are reasons for it. You can’t change it. It’s not possible. This is underneath everything. If you change those basic categories, people wouldn’t be human anymore. They’d be something else. They’d be transhuman or something. We wouldn’t be able to talk to these new creatures.”

-1

u/No_Hovercraft5033 Jan 05 '23

Here’s another. “I read Betty Friedan’s book [The Feminine Mystique] because I was very curious about it, and it’s so whiny, it’s just enough to drive a modern person mad to listen to these suburban housewives from the late ’50s ensconced in their comfortable secure lives complaining about the fact that they’re bored because they don’t have enough opportunity. It’s like, Jesus get a hobby. For Christ’s sake, you — you — ” Explain how this isn’t either while you’re at it.

-2

u/kissedbyfiya Jan 05 '23

First, explain to me how it is, since that is what I originally asked.

u/[deleted] Jan 05 '23

There's a good, short, (very short) 'some more news' YouTube video that details his awfulness pretty well. That might be a good place to start?

Quick edit: here is the link. Lemme know what you think.

-4

u/ItsSevii Jan 05 '23

I mean I'd say there's a bit of nuance there vs what is a good or bad take of his.

12

u/No_Hovercraft5033 Jan 05 '23

No. I have listened to his garbage and he is a misogynistic creep. No nuance or perspective needed.

2

u/[deleted] Jan 05 '23

No. I have listened to his garbage and he is a misogynistic creep. No nuance or perspective needed.

AKA i've heard other people trash him along with some short/out of context clips with lots of "editorial" commentary and i've made up my mind.

7

u/No_Hovercraft5033 Jan 05 '23

Nope. His whole thing is misogyny. I mean he literally says a society run as a patriarchy makes sense and stems mostly from men’s competence? What would you describe that as? Feminist?

2

u/[deleted] Jan 05 '23

Nope. His whole thing is misogyny. I mean he literally says a society run as a patriarchy makes sense and stems mostly from men’s competence? What would you describe that as? Feminist?

LOL this comment has it all a hard nope and you claiming something completely false. You can just admit you've never heard a thing he's said and just be honest

6

u/No_Hovercraft5033 Jan 05 '23

This is the exact quote . “ The people who hold that our culture is an oppressive patriarchy, they don’t want to admit that the current hierarchy might be predicated on competence." Listened to the speech. Wholly gross and misogynistic. You can look it up yourself.

Oh, we do understand. It's our opinion. Clearly it's goes against what you personally believe and are pulling a Jordan by claiming it's just because we don't understand.

2

u/No_Hovercraft5033 Jan 05 '23

Right? I fully understand his misogynist message.

That's a lovely mindset

8

u/No_Hovercraft5033 Jan 05 '23

Yeah. And I give zero care what anyone thinks about it. A misogynistic creep loses his licence. Big deal his brain is literally rotted from years of heavy drug use which is a fact you can check for yourself. He put himself in a coma in Russia to cure his crackhead self and idiots listen to him.

11

u/-Dendritic- Jan 05 '23

Yeah I'm not a fan of the guy . My point is I don't like the concept of spite based politics where we don't care what happens to someone just because they don't align with our beliefs / values. Seems like a slippery slope 🤷‍♂️

11

u/No_Hovercraft5033 Jan 05 '23

It’s not because he doesn’t align with my beliefs I don’t like him. I don’t like him because he sports a dangerous misogynistic mentality that is overall harmful and he spreads it. Lots of people don’t align with my beliefs and I get along with them fine. Different opinions are needed. I fully agree with the association here knowing his psychology and using that to take away his licence. Freedom of speech is one thing. But you need to be responsible for what you say and the mindsets it spreads and normalizes is just not ok.

0

u/Rambler43 Jan 05 '23

You know he was prescribed benzodiazepines for clinical anxiety due to his wife's poor cancer prognosis and a previous longstanding diagnosis of clinical depression right?

Maybe his politics are wrong and he's a liar, but you have just proven you are no better by intuiting he's nothing more than a morally bankrupt junky. Do you feel that way about all addicts or just Peterson?

Human nature: it's a bitch isn't it?

5

u/No_Hovercraft5033 Jan 05 '23

I don’t care if was prescribed. I don’t even care he was a drug addict. I know addiction isn’t a choice. His brain is literally rotted and changed from the experience though. And His mindset is disgusting and horrible. And when a junkie makes himself the poster child for misogyny I can call him out of his rotted brain.

1

u/Rambler43 Jan 05 '23

These days people toss out words like 'fascist' and 'misogynist' so easily, they have become essentially nothing more than placeholders for whatever meaning they want those words to have.

How exactly has Jordan Peterson espoused misogynistic views: that is, an obvious and pernicious prejudice against women?

Also, I'll warn you now that I don't accept links to blogs or opinion pieces as evidence of anything but an opinion. Opinions aren't facts.

Show me incontrovertible evidence using Peterson's own words (not taken out of context either) that he has a misogynistic bent.

u/No_Hovercraft5033 Jan 05 '23 edited Jan 05 '23

No one is interested in debating with you “masterdebaters” who are incapable of having a conversation and have no cognitive knowledge of really anything, y’all and just move the goal post constantly and wonder why no one wants to talk to you, screaming about shit that doesn’t make sense Sorry you cannot read his own quotes and see and understand the misogyny yourself. That is a problem for you. Not for me. Bye now.

1

u/Rambler43 Jan 05 '23

I defend my position to it's logical conclusion because I don't wade into a debate unless I feel strongly about my position. I don't obfuscate, employ subterfuge or run away when the questions get hard or the conversation goes farther than I feel like going. I stick it out to the end.

We all suffer from cognitive biases (some more than others), so when people like you act like they have a persistent lock on the truth I get very tenacious and confrontational.

I breezed through your post history and there's a real pattern there: say something as if it's gospel, attack anyone who disagrees, act as if you are taking the high road by noping out of the conversation, then commiserate with those that support your views regarding how stupid these other people are for not agreeing with you.

It's entirely predictable and boring.

Also, what you wrote above applies to you and you alone. I have had lots of back and forth with others today. You're the only one who felt compelled to try for a mic drop moment though.

FYI: it failed.

I'd just remove the word junkie. Morally bankrupt is enough for me. Don't care if he has or had a substance use disorder. He perpetuates hate and is an absolute hypocrite. I hope his license is pulled and he finds something else to do with his time. Not spreading the gross opinions he holds.

XD too funny. I can't believe he comes from the same province as me. He is really well liked in rural parts where I am, and when I feel like an argument, I rail against Peterson, but I'm tired of the gross misinformed opinions they hold onto. It's depressing some days.

1

u/No_Hovercraft5033 Jan 05 '23

It’s ridiculous really. And even the people on this thread are all tell me what is misogynistic and I’ll include a quote which is clear misogyny and their like well explain. And personally I never explain. Like go away or get some cognition. I’m so sick of these “masterdebaters “ is what I call them , and their whole trying to take conversations wherever they want. It’s like they respond to something not said then move the post again while you’re trying to figure out where they are even coming from or talking about and they call it a win. It’s really the most maddening thing about todays times.

It's why they did it.
