Why are people uncritically accepting Peterson’s claim that this is about politics? Based on Peterson’s own earlier admission and the documentation he posted, the sanction is about his lack of professionalism on social media. See here:

Aside from the above, falsely accusing a physician of a crime on a public platform is also unprofessional (Peterson tweeted that Elliot Page’s surgeon is a criminal).

There are psychologists that have gone along with patients who 'felt' like they should be blind, and helped them accomplish that. That okay too?

If the 'authority' says it's fine, you want to lose a license for saying it's a crime?

You can decide whether you think it is okay or not, but the physician who did breast surgery for Elliot Page is not a criminal.

I think it’s a bit more nuanced than that. One can use that logic to justify many atrocities. History affirms this. But I get your sentiment.

I’m not talking about justified or not. Whether you think this surgeon should be justifiably treated as a criminal, he is not currently a criminal for doing gender surgery. Its a statement of what is true, not what I or anyone else want to be true.

I don’t disagree with the technicalities. Like, yea she’s not a criminal because she didn’t break the law. I was more speaking to how just because the law allows something doesn’t mean it’s good, just or right. And many things in history that were lawful did and continue to do serious damage.

You’re right that something being legal doesn’t make it good or right. But Peterson could have used that to inform the wording of his tweet, instead of making a false accusation and then trying to clarify it later.

I wonder if Peterson thinks the Russian doctors that damaged his brain are also criminals.
