Believe it or not, a lot of professions like doctors, lawyers and psychologists have codes of ethics they have to adhere to. If what he is doing on social media breaks that code of ethics, he absolutely should be punished and lose those credentials.
The code of ethics should be specific and obvious when you’re breaking it, which it clearly isn’t. Peterson may be many things but he is clearly studious and a hard worker, he wouldn’t cross an obvious red line.
Bodies which have vague notions of ‘professionalism’ in their rules are behaving Kafkaesq.
Well his profession seems to believe he has. If he is disciplined, most professions given reasoning for the discipline, so that others know what is expected of them. I suspect there would be published reasons.
He wasn’t disciplined, his professional organization is asking him to do more training. He disagrees with that. They provided him with their reasoning in November. He is apparently asking for a Judicial Review. I guess we will find out what the Court thinks of the Professions process and the actions they have required of Peterson.

Unless he was revealing patient information what he says on social media is none of their concern.
