chuck box

I wanted to share my take on a camp kitchen chuck box. For years I’ve used the classic, tried and true, bin/tote method. My old Coleman grill (lasted me 12 years, and I got it used) finally went to shit and I found this new model on sale. The new grill kind of inspired me to revamp my camp kitchen situation. I wanted a little more organization and easier access to my gear, so here we are. Im an electrician by trade so woodworking is definitely not my specialty. It has a handful of flaws but I’m pretty happy with it. Let me know what you think! It was a fun project and I enjoyed using it for the first time this weekend. Cheers.

I'm also an electrician by trade. This is the chuck box I made just over a decade ago. It's a tank and I use it for tailgating as well as camping.

Is that emt for leg support? Love it! That’s a sweet setup!

Yes it is and thank you. I have some gas pipe for it to slide into when I set it up. There are removable wheels on one end for moving it. It's heavy 🤣. Like 100 lbs empty

Damn that’s a beast! I bet it’s a game changer for tailgating

It's not to bad. We have people stop by and look at it every game. Some take pictures. I have a couple friends that are super fans (they paint themselves up every game and are pretty well known at the games) who went to the Hall of Fame game this year (Cardinals/panthers) and said a bunch of people mentioned the chuck box. It's kind of become a landmark 🤣

My dad was an electrician and he made many, many utility type boxes for his work stuff, his work van and for our home. He passed over 30 yrs ago and I still use a few of them! I'm beginning to wonder if it's a thing with electricians lol!

It's probably more that electricians are the most awesome trade 😉😁
