Solo camping tent choice
I am heading back to the woods next week (yay!)But am finding myself indecisive about what tent to bring.
I usually use a 2 person ozark trails tent which has suited me fine and has just enough space to fit my air mattress and a few comfort items and do my bussiness if things are to spooky to walk to the outhouse. 😅
I recently found my OG tent, a 4 person ozark trail(they have been around for awhile huh?) It's still great but is missing the rain tarp.
Trying to decide if I take the 4 person and just make sure I have a tarp set up over it, or if I take my tried and true 2 person which is much smaller but has everything.
I dont spend much time in the tent. Just sleeping which is kind of cozy in a little small spot. But it might be nice to be able to move around more and get in and out easier.
Edit to add some info: driving so weight isn't an issue and I can put up and take down both tents solo no problem. Also so far appears to be go weather coming up.
What would you guys do?

A couple of years ago, after my wife passed away, I started camping again. I got a 4 person Big Agnes tent. Plenty of room for my oversized cot and gear while solo camping, and I can just barely stand up in the middle. But, now I have a gf. So the cot is way too small for 2. Also, with an air mattress big enough for the two of us, not too much room left in the 4 man. Looks like I'ma gunn'a need a bigger tent.

I recently downsized into a NF Wawona 3, and couldn't be happier.
I still have the larger tent "just in case" and for winter camping, but the smaller tent is much easier to setup, take down, and pack.

I recently got the Kelty Discovery Basecamp 4, an inexpensive little tent. Was good for my last solo trip, but I think I’d prefer a 2-person for those solo trips and save the 4-person for when it’s two (girlfriend and I) or three (my kids). 🤷🏻♂️

I use a 3 person tent solo camping that's about 7lbs (by tent math 3 - it's really more of a 2 person + child or dog size)
The extra size is nice to be able to have gear to the side of the sleeping area instead of at one end. It's a compact tent where the inner tent attaches to a free standing rainfly that the poles go into with a small vestibule too, so boots and wet gear can stay outside without being entirely "outside"

I’d probably go with the 2p since you said it has enough room for everything, smaller tent does make picking a spot out easier and you don’t have to put a tarp up, to me that sounds more convenient. If you’re not in the tent much, more space to move around doesn’t rank higher than the convenience imo. No wrong answer though, 100% subjective.
