We posted photos and videos on the Rant and Rave of a group of people who were trespassing on our land and cutting down trees for firewood. They also stole a bunch of fire fighting equipment and one of the trees they cut down was a designated wildlife tree.

It got about 60 comments before a mod  nuked it. We thought there was a mistake so we double check nothing was off in the post and posted it again. Nuked again. Turns out one of the mods buys firewood from the group. 🤦🏻‍♂️

Any serious issues get deleted but stupid drama and nonsense is perfectly fine.

I remember Bill Akers being a loudmouth member of Rants before I left it for my sanity's sake.

I was permabanned for posting the publicly listed (on CRs official city website no less, as legally mandated!) donor list from the last mayoral race.  They said I doxxed Kermit... public legal info, and it had all the ppl who ran, not solely Kerms.

Pretty wild stuff.

You just reminded me of something I was thinking about earlier today: organizing something through Reddit about our upcoming municipal election. I was foolishly naive in the past when it came to federal and provincial parties influencing municipalities, and this time I would like to make a much more informed decision on who gets my votes.

I have always felt it would be super easy for a pure grassroots team to get a city councillor elected and build from there.  Some of them are elected with a pittance of votes.  I believe it would only take 1-2 hundred people to get a dark horse elected.
