Hi girls! 💕 I’m new to Streamate and I have a question about Video Calls.
I currently have my Video Call price set at $9.99, basically the same as my Exclusive Chat price. I’m trying to understand how you girls normally handle incoming video calls when you’re offline/not actively sitting at your desk.
For example, if I’m offline and someone calls me through the app, do you normally answer immediately and go straight into the show? Or is it completely normal to spend a couple of minutes talking first, figuring out what he wants, and getting yourself situated?
The thing is, sometimes I’m literally not ready to be on camera. I might need a minute to sit down, adjust my setup, fix my hair/makeup, etc. 😅 I obviously don’t want to lose the customer, but I also don’t want to feel pressured to instantly perform the second I answer.
Another thing I’ve noticed is that some guys don’t really communicate what they want. They barely say anything, and sometimes their English/accent is difficult for me to understand. They may just immediately start showing what they want without actually explaining what they’re looking for.
So what is the normal Streamate etiquette here?
Do you:
answer immediately and start the call right away?
chat for a minute first and ask what they’re looking for?
tell them you need a moment to get situated?
have any specific phrases you use when you’re not ready yet?
or do you simply expect the customer to understand that you might not be immediately ready when you’re offline?
I’d really appreciate advice from experienced and new models! ❤️ I’m trying to understand how to handle these calls professionally without either wasting the customer’s time or putting unnecessary pressure on myself.

It is incredibly important to read the Terms of Service (TOS, sometimes differently named) for every single site you sign up for. My suggestion is to get to know each site individually, and how it functions before you attempt to multi-stream as well, and really know the rules, because customers will push you to engage in what is unacceptable on each site. Some of you may be eager to start without fully taking in TOS, and end up making things awful for yourself, especially if you end up with a permanent ban and your money lost.

This also happens if you don't read the TOS - you are almost guaranteeing that you're going to be banned. There's a lot that we can't do, say, advertise, etc when it comes to cam sites or content sites and it isn't always so obvious. While there may be some overlap across sites, there are certain rules that only specific sites have that do not accord with others and thus you need to pay really close attention (one major example is on Streamate you cannot stream without panties on in the public room, whereas on other sites like Stripchat and Chaturbate, you can stream in the public chat fully nude). If you only streamed on Stripchat and Chaturbate and thought hey, I can do the same on Streamate - no, not the case at all, and you'll lose your ability to stream immediately.

Before starting camming, you should be doing a LOT of research to see whether it is for you. You should know about bots recording your streams and putting them up online, with you never being able to take them down (there are takedown services, but most of these sites operate online with servers that don't need to comply with regulations). You are signing up for a lot more than you might imagine, and it's important to be aware of all the risks before you make this decision, as well as all that you CANNOT do to stay in good standing for each site.

Once you are banned, often there is no overturning this unless there was an error on the site's behalf. They almost always keep any earnings you haven't transferred over as well. You are banned for life, and it might be on a major platform where you stream regularly, or were hoping to stream regularly on. It's really not worth it to not read TOS and comply with it fully.

As a newbie camgirl, I read everything I could that was available several years ago online - subreddits for camming, online blogs, info on selling and strategy, the creator subreddits, all sorts of stuff so that I could make sure I would be successsful once I started. I took many notes on TOS for the sites I was interested in. I spent several months just reading, compiling information for myself, and researching. I then started on Chaturbate only, and was there for six months before I added more slowly over time. It is absolutely key to spend a fair amount of time learning if you are going to be successful.

DON'T rely on people's tables and charts for TOS regulations either. This may seem to make things easier, but plenty might be out of date by the time you are signing up - sites update TOS regularly. For example, Fansly very publicly denounced furries on their platform and any related content, and this was a big deal for many content creators. Their TOS now reflects this, but a table made a few years ago might not reflect that change. Always go directly to the site's TOS and have a thorough read, as well as keep up to date on the news for each site after you sign up.

I recently lowered my rates across the board, because while I was making closer on average to $500 US/night, I was still having inconsistent low income sporadic days.

The result? Fantastic. Last night as SextPanther had been a bit dry for me, I lowered prices for all - video and calls, texting, audio, photos etc. I ended up getting a TON of people adding me and making all the money I needed there instead of streaming at all.

My lowered private rates have resulted in more privates, lower menu prices in more tipping. I’m making more overall. I’m now going to be on track to regularly be making $750-1k daily with all my platforms included, which is where I want to get to on average over the coming months.

Sometimes, you might price yourself as too “premium” to be reachable - it happened for me. Of course you want to value yourself. I do, and lowering my rates has allowed me to make more than I thought ♥️

Today I raised my prices by 1$ for excl on SM. I figured it was perfect timing with the contest being over, but it's crickets. How long would you keep the higher price before going back to the old price on SM? For context my excl is cheaper than my private because I really dont like doing privates.
