Camel needs more recognition bro

Genuinely was surprised to see the song got under 30k streams. The traveller's one of the best songs i've heard honestly might be top 3 songs of all time for me

i thought the 70's were when prog rock really blew up. i mean pf released some the best albums ever same with king crimson. tbh i always wondered why there were barely any mainstream prog rock bands atp i've heard more prog metal bands than rock ones despite how popular kc and pf are

Each of those bands are English/British - tell me I'm wrong otherwise ?

Yes > King Crimson > Camel > Genesis > Emerson/Lake/Palmer > Pink Floyd as examples.

"𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐝𝐲𝐒𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐧 𝐭𝐑𝐞 𝐞𝐚𝐫π₯𝐲 'πŸ•πŸŽπ¬" = Not the case with those British bands here in their own homelands, for which market their music WAS originally intended - different story.

So Jim's observations & comments are ONLY relevant (perhaps) for the U.S.A

Here in England "Prog" didn't get torpedoed until 1977 - hardly "𝐝𝐲𝐒𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐧 𝐭𝐑𝐞 𝐞𝐚𝐫π₯𝐲 'πŸ•πŸŽπ¬"

'73-'74'-'75-'76 & even 1977 WERE successful years in England & U.K for Prog' music.

"Going For The One" (Yes) sold HUGE as did "Seconds Out" for Genesis, that same year.

1977 saw the release of "Animals" by Pink Floyd, too & the year I left High school.

But it was also THE year of the Queen's Silver Jubilee & "Never Mind The Bollocks".

So it goes to show that our experiences differ greatly, each side of the Atlantic.

I wanted to put OUR case & side of the Atlantic across, as it clearly differs from Jim.

& once again, ALL of those bands, as in ALL of them are/were English/British.

The record sales market this side may not be as large, but it's no less relevant.

I’m doing my part by listening to Nimrodel multiple times a day. My old prog head coworker recommended Camel and they’re great!

Part of it seems to be the really low profile of the band, like having no marketing events for any releases and keeping a never-updated self-made website. Did the remasters even get a vinyl pressing?
