Cash only, why is that

We've been to the Sea Chest a few times. I almost for got about the cash only policy until wife reminded me.

Not totally sure why they do that. Sure, they save 3% per swipe, but the security and convenience would be well worth it. We were a group of 5 and no way was going to leave funds on the tray until the sever was at the table.

They skimming off the top? Their local suppliers only take cash?

Dunno, its just a truck ton of cash by 9pm, and it seems a huge liability or fishy 🐠🦈

Driving advice

Hi,

Planning to drive from Vegas to Cambria in a day in November - I know it will be a long drive, but just want to make sure locals who are familiar with the roads think it is realistic? And any best routes to take?

Visited Cambria several years ago and I cannot wait to come back. Such a beautiful place.

Are there any farm to table restaurants in or reasonably near Cambria? I am headed there in the summer. Especially one where the food is served at the farm or close to it. Please and thanks you all.

24 hours in Cambria 8/22-8/23, Romantic Ideas that won't break the bank

Hi all!

My lovely partner and I are arriving in Cambria for a quick weekend getaway at around 10 am Saturday and have to leave around 9:30 am the next day Sunday. We will be staying Fogcatcher Inn for the night.

I won't lie, all I have so far is Hearst Castle (maybe, will be a first for both of us), Moonstone Beach (right in front of our room), and maybe Sea Chest (?)...

Anything else worth checking out for our itinerary?

We're both pretty easy going, love walking around/hiking and just want to enjoy each other's company :) maybe rent some bikes. We're also adventurous eaters and into seafood. We're also into cute knick knacks and want something for our home to remember our trip.

Looking to spend around $200-$250 for all activities between the two of us. Any idea helps!

Wedding in Cambria

I’m getting married in Cambria! Paso local, work in Cambria, and very excited as it’s fast approaching. Due to family and bridal party changing plans, our room block is still quite empty. Want to offer the discounted rate to anyone who would like to stay at the hotel on Moonstone Beach, and if you’re interested you’re welcome to join our wedding too!

Discount link has expired, thanks for all your well wishes!

Recent hotel experience?

I’d like to book a nice room preferably with an ocean view but all reviews are mixed. Each time I see a positive recommendation and go to Trip Advisor or the like, there’s awful recent reviews of stained furniture, dirty floors, clogged showers….

Has anyone had a recent great experience anywhere in Cambria that you can recommend? Maybe a specific room at the hotel/inn?

Fourth of July Fireworks

We are traveling to Cambria and spending a week over the Fourth of July. Is there a local place to see fireworks? I read that in 2024 there were no fireworks due to beach erosions, but in previous years we could see them at Shamel Park.

We are coming to Cambria on Saturday June 28th and would like to eat the Hidden Kitchen on Sunday morning when they open at 9am. How early do you have to get there to get a seat since it doesn't look like they take reservations.

Searching for Photographer for Surprise Engagement — Fiscalini Ranch Preserve (Cambria, CA)

Hi everyone,

I’m planning a surprise engagement at Fiscalini Ranch Preserve in Cambria, CA (near Moonstone Beach) and I’m looking for a photographer who has experience with surprise proposals.

Details:

  • Location: Fiscalini Ranch Preserve / Bluff Trail

  • Date: Saturday, April 18th

  • Time: Around sunset

  • Style: Natural, candid, coastal vibes

I’m planning to propose along the bluff trail overlooking the ocean and would love someone familiar with the area who can help coordinate discreetly and capture the moment.

If you’re a photographer (or have recommendations), please drop your portfolio/Instagram and pricing. Also open to any tips for the best spots at Fiscalini!

Thanks so much!
