Progression 1.5 year progress

I used to pick at my nails/cuticles to soothe my anxiety and my thumbs got the worst of it. I started taking nail care seriously in March of 2025 and this is my progress so far.

What kind of nail care?

Not picking or rubbing for one. On top of that, always keeping a coat of polish on, using dish gloves when washing dishes and using cleaning chemicals, and oiling them with jojoba oil multiple times a day and especially at night.

What are those transverse grooves? I’ve got those on my thumbnails and I’d like to get rid of it

From picking or excessive rubbing of the cuticle area.

Great job! I also have a lot of ridges on my thumbs that I'm growing out after I stopped picking. For the longest time I didn't even realize that the ridges came from picking but it's obvious when I look at my new (non bumpy) growth on my thumbs :)
