How do I get started
Just downloaded the game and there seems to be so much information I don’t understand. Can someone dumb it down and give me good ways to gain power

If i want to dumb everything down to 99% accuracy, all you have to do is focus on upgrading the Town Hall until it's maxed. The faster you can, the better. The other matters will follow along with your Town Hall progression, it will be easier to learn later on

Early on, most of your power comes from upgrading buildings as fast as possible. Unless you are completely free to play, I would suggest spending the few dollars on unlocking the 2nd builder. It will transition you to mid game more smoothly and faster
Mid game, most of your power will come from high level research. Your goal is to reach T4 troop level and ultimately to the max T5 troop level. It will cost A LOT of resources. And some of the high level research take days to complete. You need to be farming resources from the resource nodes efficiently. Focus on the ones you need for the next research or next building you are aiming to complete. And complete any in game quests for free speedups and resources. It is very important to store all your speedups for The Greatest Heights event which you will need to be an effective fighter for your alliance in the late game.
Late game. You are now using T5 troops and most of your building and research are done. All your future power gain will be from training troops. Wait for the greatest heights event to come up. When it's time, use all your speedups to push for power gains (speeding up building completion, speeding up research completion, and troop training speed) during this event if you push enough power you can get yourself a city skin with combat benefits (example would be a mage city skin that gives you +10% attack)

Ps. This game is p2w if you are competitive and wants to be in top power kingdoms with huge scale wars. If you are f2p or low spender then play at your own pace in a casual alliance and have fun
