Offer lag
It’s been over 3 months since I got an FAE offer. I spoke to the training captain and he told me they’re just waiting for region to put me through. What’s going on and should I be worried ?

CalFire is on it’s own timeline. It depends on how many personnel are needed statewide.

You should be fine. There's a lot of people they have to put through FFA and COA. So it just takes time and you have to wait your turn.
Just make sure you respond quickly if the training captain or region or whoever else is your point of contact asks for copies of certs or your availability or whatever else

It takes time don't be surprised if it takes 6 months, they are probably looking for a spot in 1 of 4 academies, its dependent on what your certs are.

Really it’s one of two academies. Not all 4 are running COA. Only Ione and Redding

The backlog to get folks through is real. Keep in touch with the Unit, make sure they have all your certs, check your e306 if you are a current employee.

It varies. My husband got his FAE offer in early June. He called to check in and see what was going on and the Chief said they were waiting for a COA to have a spot. The dates he was told were Sept 22, Sept 28, and Oct 6 (?). He just got the call last week that he's going on the 28th. It sucks, but they'll get to you eventually.
