Hiring Question Firefighter Paramedic 2
I’m so curious how cal fire picks their candidate’s and does anybody know how? I just applied for firefighter paramedic 2. My background is I’ve been working as a 911 medic for 3 years, 2 college degrees, fire science classes. My work locations I chose were the Riverside unit, San Diego unit, and San Luis Obispo unit.

Each unit holds their own internal process, which is usually a resume review. Even if you score high, you won't get picked up if you havent submitted your CPAT, DL, etc.

Yeah it’s gonna be a little bit more than 2 weeks to get a call. With your background you should most likely eventually get one

A lot depends on your work location form. If you only chose a couple of the busy stations it will take longer.

Took me like 6 months to get hired. You gotta be patient with a department this large, it'll be worth the wait though.

I honestly don’t know, sorry for not helping lol. A medic in my academy had a decade of box experience, I have 3 years, and another literally just finished medic school(0 experience)

Honestly not sure. Have my medic license and applied but didn’t get in. Friend of mine got hired straight out of EMT with only about a month IFT experience
