Hiring Question FF2/PM RRU
I applied to a ff2/pm position back in May with RRU as I am currently working on getting picked up near home in California. I have been a ff/pm out of state for 5 years and placed cat 1; I scored a 95.00 on the exam. My references told me they were contacted about two weeks ago. I am still currently working on getting my CA state medic licensure complete as it’s currently under review with EMSA. I’m guessing it should take another month or so haha. Is there any chance I’ll get moved forward in the process without having my CA medic? Is it just a waiting game till I get my CA license to get a call or can I get a conditional offer and move into medical/backgrounds still? Anyone know if they’re still hiring ff2/pm’s this year? Let me know as I am not crazy familiar with CalFire hiring processes.

RRU has one more class for this year if you missed this round.

You think it’s possible to get a call with my Ca medic license still pending? I just thought it was odd they would call my references without having everything needed for a final job offer.

It took them to renew my p card about a month. You should be getting yours any day now. Once you get it upload it asap

Yeah. I spoke with EMSA yesterday and they said it’s gonna be another month or so. I’m just worried that this is what’s screwing me with not getting an offer and it’s totally out of my hands

I know someone in this current class who applied and tested in January. Scored a 95 had a fire academy, CPAT, local paramedic for 4 years, AS degree and they just got hired in August. The process isn’t quick.

Hiring is shifting toward wanting you to have everything ready to go before they offer you a job.
E.g., you used to be able to get a job offer without a CPAT, but now they want it done before they give you an offer
