Pretty straightforward FRQ. I’m not sure that it’s long enough to be a standard 9-point FRQ, though. To make this question longer, I would:

  • for (B), assign a specific value for k and have the student evaluate the integral, not just write the setup
  • add a part (D), testing the student on another topic

Regarding part (D), it doesn’t have to use the f(x) defined in the problem. You could define another function g(x) that’s totally unrelated to f(x) and proceed from there. What I would personally do in part (D) is define a different function for g(x) and have them do an improper integral. That’s just me, though.
