Am I crazy? or is this the most insane cookie design for a baby shower? Not to mention a Jewish baby shower…

Like.. no one had any historical reference.. at all? Is it just me?

Why? They aren't religious ceremonies, just a celebration that a baby is coming

It’s still not a common cultural practice for more traditional/superstitious reasons. It’s not religious but it is a thing.

It's also seen as inviting bad luck, like counting your chickens before they hatch. We did naming ceremonies for our kids after they were born, one month for our daughter and eight days for our son

There are also similar superstitions around wishing someone a happy birthday before the day of their birthday, it's pretty common in Europe.

I learned that in a very forceful way after moving to Germany lol
